2116: Art of Leverage – Call for Artists
Emerging Young Artists (EYA) proposes the concept of 2116: Art of Leverage to provide a space for emerging artists to express their perspectives on society that is vital to our evolution as a global community.
Deadline: 15 Nov 2015
Our creative philosophies are united by eternal values and revival of spirituality, and serve as an impetus to reconnect with a mode of life most of us have only ever heard about. The exhibition explores the driving power that motivates artists today.
What defines their styles in the 21st century? Work will be chosen for quality, originality, and consistency of form and style and must be suitable for a public space serving people of all age.
Successful candidates will exhibit for three weeks during January 2016.
EYA will mainly consider, but not limit, submissions to the following types of artwork:
- 2D, 3D artwork: such as digital prints, painting, installation, and sculpture.
- Time-based works: film, video, animation, and mixed media performance.
- Interactive, electronically-mediated artworks using music, sound, digital audio, interactive instruments.
- Collaborative projects between different fields of art, science, and technology.
All selected participants will be paid a project fee for the exhibition.
Emerging Young Artists, in partnership with Gallery 1313 in Toronto, will present artworks that reflect your vision of the contemporary society. We invite emerging artists in Ontario to submit proposals. The Gallery is located on Toronto’s Queen Street West, a great space for contemporary artists, with large wall spaces for variously-sized work and a smaller room for smaller-scale work or video and sound installation.
Emerging Young Artists would like to acknowledge support from the Ontario Art Council.
