About the Wisconsin Designer Crafts Council
WDCC is dedicated to fostering excellence in fine crafts and making them more significant in the cultural life of Wisconsin. It is a service organization with roots dating to 1916, when the Wisconsin Society of Applied Arts was formed. The second of its kind in the United States, the group was later called Wisconsin Designer Craftsmen and is now known as Wisconsin Designer Crafts Council. The Morning Glory show was originally held on the grounds of the Charles Allis Art Museum in Milwaukee. It outgrew that location and moved to its present location in 1992. It has enjoyed great success at its downtown location. Its name still reflects its roots having been named after the morning glory vines in the Charles Allis garden.
