About IMAGO Foundation
Imago Foundation for the Arts serves artists and the public through its visual arts programs, literary events, arts-related initiatives, and educational programs. The organization’s goal is to make the arts a visible and active part of our communities. Recently, the Foundation has presented a wide range of programming that has included six to eight art exhibits a year, juried and open community exhibits, presentations and discussions, and performances and educational programs.
Early in 2017, IFA established a book club focusing on books related to art topics and artist lives. IFA was honored to host the 2017 RISCA Fellowship exhibition in March of 2017. They hosted subsequently several public panel discussions on art topics such as abstract and figurative art and photography; a book signing by Rhode Island painter and sculptor John Udvardy; a poetry reading by Tina Cane, RI poet laureate; and a professional development workshop for artists. In September, 2017, IFA hosted its 11th annual open national juried exhibit, The Art of Protest, featuring thirty mixed media pieces by nineteen artists from across the country.
