Regional Art Exhibition (Knoxville, TN) – Call For Artists
[Sponsored Listing] Dogwood Arts announces a call for artists for the Regional Art Exhibition, showcasing fine art of all kinds from emerging and established artists throughout the Knoxville, TN, region. The juried exhibition will be on display in the upper gallery at the Emporium Center in Downtown Knoxville from June 4-25, 2021. An independent juror with significant ties to local, regional, and national creative culture will review each application, select the participants, and award monies totaling $2,000 at the opening celebration on Friday, June 4th from 5-8 PM.

Deadline: 9 May 2021
For the 2021 regional art exhibition, artworks must have been completed in the last two years by artists 18 years of age and older that live permanently within 500 miles of Downtown Knoxville.
Calendar
- Sunday, May 9th (11:59PM): Application deadline ($15 Fee – 100% of the application fees cover award monies)
- Monday, May 17th: Notification of acceptance via email
- Tuesday, June 1st: Artwork must be delivered to the Emporium Center (Artwork can also be delivered or mailed to the Dogwood Arts office May 17th-21st)
- June 4-25th: Exhibition Dates
- June 4th: Exhibition Opening and Award Ceremony 5:00-8:00pm at the Emporium Center
Juror
The exhibition will be juried by Althea Murphy-Price. Murphy-Price began her studies in Fine Art at Spelman College before receiving her Master of Arts in Printmaking and Painting from Purdue University and later studying at the Tyler School of Art, Temple University where she earned her Master of Fine Arts. Her artwork has been shown widely throughout the country as well as international cities in Spain, China, Japan, Italy, and Sweden. Her writings and work have been featured in such publications as Art Papers Magazine, CAA Reviews, Contemporary Impressions Journal, Art in Print, Printmaking: A Complete Guide to Materials and Process, and Printmakers Today.

The Dogwood Arts Regional Art Exhibition is a top notch showcase of emerging and established artists in the South. The show has a long-standing reputation of excellence and is well-attended by local artists, buyers, and art lovers alike. The opening reception will take place on a First Friday in June in a prominent gallery in Knoxville, TN with guaranteed exposure for clients and buyers. Participating artists will be eligible for over $2,000 in award monies that will be distributed at the opening reception.
