Rejuvenate your mind, body, and spirit with the tranquility of nature and sustainable living practices in an intimate retreat setting.
The Foundation offers comfortable and beautiful accommodations, ample work space, and serene surroundings so that individual or group projects can flourish. You will be surrounded by numerous and diverse indigenous flora and fauna. It is common to have toucans, scarlet macaws, monkeys, coatis, and sloths pass through. Experience the wonder of Costa Rica while the Foundation takes care of every detail, allowing you to focus on honing your art. Included in your stay: nutritious meals, sense of community, day trips, airport transportation, and studio space in the lush jungle. There are several local community projects that artists in residence are given the option and love to participate in including an Open Air Art Walk and a Volunteer Program for artists to teach at a local school.
The EcoHouse Artist Residency is a 6,000 square foot Spanish Villa that sits on 3 acres of land. It is located within a small community in the mountains. Surrounding the location is the jungle, breathtaking views, and miles of dirt roads and trails to meander, run or hike, and explore. For the meals provided, the Foundation harvests fruits, herbs, and veggies from their food forests and greenhouse. Local tours and adventures are included weekly to Manuel Antonio National Park, Rainmaker, Iguana Chocolate Cacao Farm, and the beach.

Mauser Harmony with Nature Foundation was established as a 501(c)(3) non-profit in 1998 by the Cook family in honor of Dr. Ferdinand F. Mauser, who truly believed in the power of education and culture to raise environmental awareness. The foundation promotes a healthy and conscious lifestyle, and supports students, businesses, and non-profit organizations committed to the preservation of nature.
