I work primarily on depicting the local landscape through the circle of seasons. Alternating between realism and abstraction, I find new ways to show my delight in, and affection for, my native ground.
I bring a geographer’s eye to textile work. Using quilting techniques and a collage sensibility, I create visual work from tactile materials. This new series represents an exploration of rivers in the abstract. Looking at rivers in aerial views, the palimpsest of their path is readily visible. These marks of the river across the landscape and through time are the text of the earth.
