As artist I split my time between collaborative community-based public art and fine arts gallery work. In both fields I work in the broadest materials and base my designs on the space, environment, community, and level of engagement desired. I specialize in getting the public to participate in the creation of a project without it feeling like work.

As an artist I believe we have the opportunity to be global communicators. Public art opens the door for the communication to begin. Public art has unlimited potential to facilitate collaboration and integration of multiple disciplines. It can bring people together in meaningful and productive ways while also enhancing and uniting environments.

Public art is a passion of mine. I enjoy being the facilitator - helping a community communicate through art. I find the uniqueness of each opportunity in public art and it’s innate challenges exciting. Finding answers and solutions is what makes life fun and is an inherent pleasure of public art.

I am inspired by the challenges that public art can offer to the designer and artist. The challenges of space, permanency, and reflection of community will always drive the design of the public art projects in unique directions. Public art is a passion of mine. My art is influenced by nature, although flora and fauna is reflected in much on my art I am heavily inspired by other aspects of nature like wind, skyscapes, reflections and shadows. I enjoy creating art that awakens the senses. I like my designs to lure the viewer to examine the work closer. I get enjoyment knowing the viewer is compelled to touch my sculpture. Texture is integral in all my forms. Texture is a language and has the capability to enthrall and mesmerize the viewer. It is my hope that my art will cause reflection and enjoyment in things not normally given much notice in our busy lives.
