This is an exhibition project working towards creating a place for women artists from all walks of life, diverse cultural backgrounds, and different identities of race or sexuality.
Deadline: 1 Jul 2015
The main focus will be on issues and concepts in relation to the embodied experience in time and space; the hybridization between identities and cultures; and the binary constructs of gender, homosexuality vs. heterosexuality, domestic vs. public spheres, and outskirt vs. center with respect to progress, societies, social spaces and identities.
The project will showcase the works of the participating women artists in a series of solo and collaborative exhibitions. Artists are encouraged to express new ideas and experiment with various media.

Art Playground are offering 4 commissions of £500 each to create work for their newest project- the Art Maze. We are building a maze where the walls are different artworks and each dead end is an installation.
Deadline: 13 Mar 2015
The opportunity is open to artists working in any medium. We would like to work with artists who are interested in engaging their audience in a different way and creating work for a broad public audience of all ages. We’re interested in hearing from young, emerging artists as well as more established artists.
The maze will be open to the public 1-19 April.
“We’re expecting at least 3,000-4,000 visitors, based on previous similar projects and it’s an opportunity to engage with a really varied audience. The maze will be visited by adults and children, art enthusiasts and passers by alike.
We have a good track record in engaging press coverage for our events and the maze will be covered by a range of publications, via our website, mailing list and social media which will include information about the artists involved in the project.
We work closely with artists who responded to previous open calls and create opportunities and commissions within our work for them.”
We are a social enterprise. We create interactive arts project and places and provide opportunities for artists in the early stages of their career. We create arts events that engage adults and children alike and use empty retail spaces to encourage a new audience for art.
