The Ann Arbor Art Center, in partnership with founding donors Larry and Lucie Nisson and the Ann Arbor Area Community Foundation, is launching a visual arts initiative to infuse the Ann Arbor area with distinctive, inspirational, and interactive arts experiences that engage both artists and the public and enhance the vitality of the community.

Artists and curators are invited to come up with concepts for exhibitions inside of 100 sq ft pavilions that form the core placemaking and presentation vehicles for the inaugural POP·X festival, October 15-24, 2015 in Ann Arbor’s downtown Liberty Plaza Park.
Installation concepts can feature any media and ideally value sustained or interactive engagement by visitors and inspire those visitors with dynamic, thought-provoking, or fun expressions of contemporary arts. Open to all interested artists and curators, submitting as an individual or team.

This is an exhibition project working towards creating a place for women artists from all walks of life, diverse cultural backgrounds, and different identities of race or sexuality.

The main focus will be on issues and concepts in relation to the embodied experience in time and space; the hybridization between identities and cultures; and the binary constructs of gender, homosexuality vs. heterosexuality, domestic vs. public spheres, and outskirt vs. center with respect to progress, societies, social spaces and identities.
The project will showcase the works of the participating women artists in a series of solo and collaborative exhibitions. Artists are encouraged to express new ideas and experiment with various media.
tAd is a small, not-for-profit, artist-run space, established to promote contemporary art practices as a way to stimulate dialogue between visual art, culture, and society.

Art Playground are offering 4 commissions of £500 each to create work for their newest project- the Art Maze. We are building a maze where the walls are different artworks and each dead end is an installation.

The opportunity is open to artists working in any medium. We would like to work with artists who are interested in engaging their audience in a different way and creating work for a broad public audience of all ages. We’re interested in hearing from young, emerging artists as well as more established artists.
The maze will be open to the public 1-19 April.
“We’re expecting at least 3,000-4,000 visitors, based on previous similar projects and it’s an opportunity to engage with a really varied audience. The maze will be visited by adults and children, art enthusiasts and passers by alike.
We have a good track record in engaging press coverage for our events and the maze will be covered by a range of publications, via our website, mailing list and social media which will include information about the artists involved in the project.
We work closely with artists who responded to previous open calls and create opportunities and commissions within our work for them.”

The National Collage Society, Inc. is hosting its 18th Annual Postcard Show. The Postcard Show is a small format show where 100% of the work submitted by NCS Members is accepted.

All international artists are welcome to enter. All entries must be original and not have been previously shown in any NCS exhibit. Entry must be a collage. All work must be no larger or smaller than 4″ x 6″ and no more than 1/2″ in depth.
