Deja 42 Art Gallery is seeking artists who would like to present their work in the upcoming November exhibition, Small Works. Creators working in all media are welcome. Open to all themes. Pieces must be no larger than 9” x 12” and must be priced to sell at under $150.

Deja 42 Art Gallery promotes featured artists through social media such as Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter as well as the gallery’s website. Showing artists receive 60% of their retail ask. Openings are every second Saturday of the month. Openings draw a big crowd in an intimate space. This offers promotion, exposure, and open discussion among artists and potential buyers.

Creators are encouraged to submit their interpretations and visions of superheroes, super villains, mutants, super powers, creatures, gods and goddesses, myths, and stories both ancient and current, urban legends, demons and angels, witches, wizards, warlocks, and good and evil.

A non-refundable entry fee of $20 is required for up to three artworks. If you would like to include detail images of your work, those are excepted at no additional cost.
 Please include contact information, artwork title, media and dimensions with your submission. It is preferable that artworks are for sale. All hanging work must be suitably framed to a professional standard. Work must be wired and ready for hanging. Canvases should have neat gallery wrapped edges. Accepted artists will be notified by Friday, July 4th , 2019.

Twenty-Two Gallery announces a call for artists for a gallery representation opportunity. The gallery is currently reviewing artwork for inclusion in their limited Artist Membership Gallery. This type of art gallery is similar to a cooperative, but with less responsibilities and more benefits to the artist.

Twenty-Two Gallery offers two levels of Membership:

  • Full Member – A $125 per month member fee and 15% commission on art sold will apply. Also, artists gallery-sit one day per month. Artist’s work is shown year round on Member area walls. Artist is offered a solo show every 1 1/2 to 2 years.
  • Non-Sitting Full Member – A $175 per month member fee and is the same as a Full Membership but no gallery sitting is required.

Twenty-Two has been cultivating and celebrating the arts and artists in the community since it’s establishment in 2001. As a Member Artist you would have a year-round space to display your artworks and networking opportunities. Seeking artists local to Philadelphia metro area in PA, NJ, and DE.

Gateways To Nature – Call For Artists

Tyler Arboretum, in Media, PA, announces a call for artists for the 2019 Gateways to Nature Exhibit. Create a structure or work for Gateways to Nature that showcases your talent and vision. Ignite the imaginations of a broad regional audience by creating portals, gateways, and thresholds that invite discovery of the natural world on extensive grounds. Gateways to Nature will run from April through October, 2019, at Tyler Arboretum.

Submissions may include existing works appropriate to the theme or new works. All works including those offered for sale must remain at Tyler for the duration of the exhibit. Collaboration between artists, designers and builders is encouraged. All winning exhibitors will be notified by November 20, 2018.

Submissions should include:

  • A rendering of the design concept
  • A maximum one-page description of the exhibit concept
  • Maximum of three perspective sketches and/or a model measuring no more than 24” x 18” (model is optional)
  • Completed application form with requested information including title of the exhibit
  • A non-refundable application fee of $40 per design, payable via check to Tyler Arboretum

Designs will be judged based on the following criteria (not in order of importance):

  • Relevance to theme – Gateways to Nature.
  • Engagement with visitors – creative, imaginative, inspiring, and fun.
  • Accessibility – accessible for children and adults of various ages and abilities; no steps required to access the experience
  • Durability and Safety – structurally sound and able to withstand environmental stresses as well as the active engagement of visitors of all ages for the duration of the exhibit
  • Executable – able to be installed within the two-week installation time frame by the exhibitor’s team with limited help from Tyler staff and volunteers
  • Flexibility – the ability to move the piece to an alternate location if necessary

Gateways to Nature Artist Benefits

Tyler has an affluent, well-educated audience within a region rich in arts and culture. The Philadelphia and Mid-Atlantic region has a well-developed community of patrons and collectors, both private and corporate. Tyler Arboretum attracts over 74,000 visitors a year concentrated from April through October. In 2017, Tyler had visitors from 37 states and 8 foreign countries, with 65% coming from the mid-Atlantic region including New York, SE Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, and Maryland.

  • Exhibitors may receive reimbursement of up to $2000 to assist in fabrication and installation costs.
  • Tyler will provide marketing support for the exhibit, including announcement of winners, press releases about the exhibit, and promotion through radio, web and social media. Gateways to Nature will open with an event to which exhibitors may include their invitation list.
  • Tyler will create an exhibit webpage with links to exhibitors’ websites and contact information, as requested.
  • Tyler will provide insurance for all works in the exhibit once exhibit materials are delivered on site, for the duration of the exhibit.
  • Exhibitors work can be provided for sale, loaned to Tyler Arboretum for the duration of the exhibit, or with mutual agreement, donated to Tyler.
  • Any and all sales of exhibitors’ work will be handled directly by the exhibitor, with a 25% commission to Tyler. Pieces purchased during the exhibit will remain at Tyler Arboretum for the duration of the exhibition. The exhibitor is solely responsible for delivery of the exhibit to the owner.
  • Tyler has a social networks outreach with over 15,500 email recipients, 9250 Facebook followers, 1717 Twitter, 1376 Instagram followers and 80,000 website users.

The Hour After – Call For Artists

Mad Rex is looking for artists to showcase and sell their work during our 7pm-9pm Wednesday The Hour After event. As a post-apocalyptic restaurant, Mad Rex provides space for a bazaar where local businesses, artists, and survivors can meet at a central watering hole. The trading post is open every Wednesday.

There is no fee to participate.  The Hour After networking event provides a complementary space with a unique atmosphere to showcase artwork. The Hour After is a high traffic event during the restaurant’s happy hour. This is a reoccurring weekly event. Artists may participate multiple times throughout the year. They receive 20% off all food and drinks the night they participate.

About Mad Rex

Mad Rex is a post-apocalyptic themed restaurant and virtual reality lounge. The concept was designed specifically with Philadelphia in mind. Customers pay to rent a VR headset which comes loaded with games and videos for them to watch. They can check out the specially-developed VREX lounge with curated content. Mad Rex has hired local artists to design each aspect of the restaurant including the bar top, graffiti-covered crashed plane coming through the ceiling, and costumes that adorn mannequins all over the restaurant.

Immigration Now – Call For Artists

Immigration Now is a juried exhibition that brings together works by artists from a wide range of backgrounds. They explore American immigration through personal experience within the past 30 years. Works may encompass a variety of media and styles, engaging the deeper meanings of transcultural migration to the United States.

This exhibition will be on view to a diverse student population at Penn State Abington College, which is in a suburb just outside Philadelphia.

It is free to submit entries for this exhibition. Selections will be made by a succession of two jury panels. The first panel consists of Penn State Abington faculty members listed below. A second panel of Penn State Abington students who identify with the immigrant experience will make final selections.

This exhibition is open to all artists working in the theme of US immigration from contemporary personal experience. The contemporary experience as defined by this exhibition includes work that discusses themes, concepts, and events that have occurred within the past thirty years.

  • All media will be considered
  • Works may not exceed eight feet in any dimension
  • All work must be ready for presentation
  • Any special hardware should be provided
  • In the event a work must be assembled, include clear instructions

The Penn State Abington Art Gallery reserves the right to decline work that is misrepresented in its submission or does not include clear instruction or appropriate installation/hanging materials. Artists will be notified of their acceptance status by November 8, 2017

Artist Benefits

Chosen artists for Immigration Now will have the opportunity to exhibit work in a forward-thinking group exhibition that will be on view to a diverse population. Artists’ works will be featured on a college campus that strives to engage many points of view from many first generation college students. Many of whom are first generation Americans. Artists’ works will feature in a conversation already happening on college campuses, but especially on the campus of Penn State Abington College where many students understand firsthand about the immigrant experience. Artists will get to speak to this community and others that exist in the Philadelphia area.

About Penn State Abington Art Gallery

The Penn State Abington Art Gallery is relatively new at about three years old. The mission of the gallery is to bring new work and ideas to a college campus that educates students in a variety of majors. The Art Gallery contributes to the local conversation of the college. It features experimental and contemporary work that are important in the contemporary conversations of the United States. The Penn State Abington Art Gallery services the immediate campus community and the community at large, a suburban area of Philadelphia.

Fairmount Park Conservancy is looking for a piece with a sense of fun, spectacle, and intentionality. The artwork should speak to its setting and create a unique experience for those attending. This commission is part of a larger effort to forge new connections between artists and cultural partners with communities and the public realm. The conservancy is working to engage the power of the arts to enhance treasured city parks and to provide a new lens through which to see, understand, and experience them.

Chosen Glow In The Park artist(s) will receive an artist fee. The total project budget is $7,000 which is inclusive of all artist fees and fabrication costs.
