Primary Colors (New York City, NY) – Call For Artists

The New York Center for Photographic Art (NYC4PA) announces a call for artists for Primary Colors. Red, yellow, and blue tubes of paint are the basic building blocks for all the colors of the rainbow. They stand alone, individually, as strong primary color artistic elements.

Deadline: 17 Jan 2021

Send your images where one of these colors stands out as a critical element of your photographic composition. Decide which of the three colors – red, yellow, or blue – central to each image you submit and select the category that matches.

The number of possibilities is vast and includes black and white photographs with a single point of color; red, yellow or blue monochromes; or any image where one of the primary colors stands out as a focal part of the photograph. Is the blue sea what catches your eye, a red clown nose, or maybe a big yellow school bus? Have you modified a print to be all shades of red? All photographic formats are welcome.

The total prizes for Primary Colors is $3000. There is a grand prize, three first prizes, three second prizes, three third prizes, 20 juror’s selections, and 20 honorable mentions.  All 50 winners are posted in a gallery on NYC4PA’s website and are included in an exhibition gallery. The call is open to any photographers worldwide and of any age, amateurs or professional. A professional photographer is the juror.
