Art in the Park at Lake Union – Call for Artists

Northwest Art Alliance, the producer of the Best of the Northwest Art & Fine Craft Shows, is hosting a new seasonal art and craft marketplace taking place on Thursdays at Lake Union Park.

Call for artists application

Deadline: 15 Jun 2015

Northwest Art Alliance is thrilled to announce a new event for the summer season in the fastest growing neighborhood in the Seattle area. Join us and our friends and partners as we bring art alive in one of the most beautiful parks in the city, Lake Union Park. In partnership with Seattle Parks & Recreation and the SLU Art Walk and with the support of Vulcan, Inc. (a Paul Allen company) and Amazon, there’ll be something about Thursdays in South Lake Union. We share this location with MOHAI, the Center for Wooden Boats, a number of historic vessels on the Lake and a wide variety of other fine businesses generating plenty of foot traffic.

The event dates are:

  • *May 7
  • June 4
  • July 9 – *Oct 1

*The events on May 7 and October 1 are partnered with the SLU Art Walk. This partnership will create a neighborhood art event, generating excitement on both sides of Mercer Street.

High traffic area, easy load in, free parking, discounts for multiple date advance purchase.

Formerly Northwest Crafts Alliance, the group was founded by a group of artists in 1989 to produce a holiday art show. Reorganized as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in 2011, Northwest Art Alliance has become the heart of an expanding network of artists, art supporters, art organizations and art collectors. Like that first ‘Best of the Northwest’ Show, our current spring and fall shows feature the area’s best makers of American art and fine craft.

Our mission is to nurture and promote the NW art and fine crafts community. The NW Art Alliance provides artists with essential tools, education and exposure to help them succeed, and provides our area with access to a vibrant community of artists and craftspeople.

We do this with a staff of two, a few contract employees, a tireless Board of Directors, and dedicated volunteers.
