[Side Arts Certified Sponsored Listing] Dogwood Arts announces a call for artists for the 2023 Dogwood Regional Art Exhibition, showcasing fine art of all kinds from emerging and established artists living and working within a 500 mile radius of Knoxville, Tennessee. Open to all artists 18 years and older. Work must have been completed in the last two years.
Categories are 2-D painting, drawing, mixed media, printmaking, photography, 3-D sculpture of all media (may submit two images), and site-specific installation. 4-D art, including video, performance and other time-based pieces are not eligible.

The juried exhibition takes place annually at the Emporium Center and Dogwood Arts Gallery in Downtown Knoxville, Tennessee. An independent juror with significant ties to local, regional, and national creative culture reviews each application, selects the participants, and awards over $2,000 to participating artists.
New This Year: Dogwood Arts is expanding the Dogwood Regional Art Exhibition to include additional space for installations in the Dogwood Arts Gallery (just down the street from the Emporium Center). This may include large-scale sculptural work and/or site-specific installations of any kind. There will be a materials stipend up to $700 (to be reimbursed with receipts) based on scale and level of involvement.

Awards: Cash awards totaling $2,000 will be presented at the Opening Reception on August 4, 2023 at the Emporium from 5-8 pm. Best in Show $1,000, 2nd Place $500, Third Place $250, two $125 Honorable Mention awards, and a $100 Gift Certificate courtesy of ExpressFrame for custom framing. All awards are designated by the juror and are final. All artists accepted into the show are encouraged to attend the Awards Reception at the Emporium Art Center on August 4th.
The Dogwood Regional Art Exhibition is a heavily publicized and well-attended event in the heart of Downtown Knoxville. The exhibition will be on display for an entire month with every effort made by the organization to sell the artwork on display.

The show will be juried by artist Susan O’Neill. There will be $500 in cash prizes awarded to winners. The Out of the Blue national juried art show will begin with a First Friday opening reception, which can draw between 100-200 people.

Gallery Underground is a nonprofit juried art gallery run by the Arlington Artists Alliance. It is an exciting gathering place for artists and the greater local community. The gallery makes 2D and 3D art accessible and promotes the works of all levels of artists. The gallery features the artwork of 30+ established and emerging regional artists representing many mediums including painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, ceramics, and mixed media. [Side Arts Certified Sponsored Listing] The Tifton Council for the Arts (TCA) announces a call for artists for the Arts Affair Festival. Cash prizes totaling $1,500 will be awarded. Artists who have not participated in the past are strongly encouraged to apply. No commissions on sales.
The Arts Affair Festival will include a community wide concert on Friday, November 3rd and an arts festival on Saturday, November 4th, 2023, in and around the grounds of the Syd Blackmarr Arts Center. The festival will feature an art exhibit, artist booths, children’s Arts Circus, local authors, food trucks, art demonstrations, live performances throughout the day, and a Sweet Taste of Tifton with a variety of baked good vendors.

There are three ways for artists to participate:
- Art Exhibit and Competition Inside: Enter up to 3 pieces of artwork into the exhibit held inside The Syd Blackmarr Arts Center. Artwork will be entered into a competition where a qualified judge will select the most creative and skilled work. Prizes totaling $1,500 will be awarded in various categories.
- Artist Market Booth Outside: Register for an outdoor (10 x 10) booth to sell artwork. No commission on sales. Artists must supply their own tent and set up. Not eligible for prizes.
- Do Both: Enter up to 3 pieces of artwork into the exhibit AND sell artwork in the Artist Market. Artists keep all proceeds from sales in the Exhibit and Artists Market.
The TCA has over 2,500 followers on Facebook. They partner with many local organizations to promote and participate in the event including Tifton Tourism, the Tifton-Tift County Public Library, YMCA, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, and Kiwanis. A section of the festival is devoted to kids in the Arts Circus, which brings out the entire family. There will be food trucks at the event Friday and Saturday.

Tifton Council for the Arts is located in South Georgia, approximately 2.5 hours South of Atlanta on I-75. TCA is housed in The Syd Blackmarr Arts Center (The Syd), a 120-year-old architectural treasure that was originally the Methodist Church. The building was the first brick church built in the community. It brought a refined elegance at the turn of the century to the growing rural town.
Today “The Syd” is operated by the Tifton Council for the Arts Board of Directors and Volunteer Guild. It serves as a cultural anchor for downtown Tifton and provides regular arts, education, and cultural programming to people of all ages and interests.

Art in the Arboretum will have several opportunities for artists to display their work this year which include traditional style 10′ x10′ tent spaces in the gardens, 5′ x 10′ under-awning spaces outside, and 6′ x 9′ interior booth spaces in the Education Center and Greenhouse. The festival is open to seasoned show veterans to first-timers inside.
Friends of the Arboretum can’t wait to share all the exciting changes that they have made to the 28th annual Art in the Arboretum Festival including new prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place artwork; the new limited edition VIP ticket program for collectors; and advertising partners/sponsors.
There are over 1,800 Friends of the Arboretum members who have free admission to the event and another 2,000+ paying attendees each year.
About Friends of the Arboretum
The Friends of the New Hanover County Arboretum (i.e. The Friends) was created as a non-profit, 501 c (3) fund raising organization in 1986. Since then, it has provided financial support to the New Hanover County Arboretum for the maintenance of its gardens and their improvement. Over the years, it has supported special projects like the creation of the Contemplation Garden, improvements to the Children’s Garden (which will be completed this year), and the educational programs of Extension.

Artists may enter up to two pieces of work, but may submit more than one image of each piece. A jury of three art professionals will select the pieces for the annual juried collage exhibit and may choose one or two per eligible artist. Cash awards and merit certificates will be selected by an awards judge. Notification of the jury’s decisions will be sent via email in late July. The National Collage Society will be awarding both cash and materials awards for this opportunity. Cash awards are allocated in multiple amounts, the minimum of which is $50. The award winners will be listed in the catalog and website. This exhibit will count toward signature membership. The exhibit will be held in Union, New Jersey, and online so it can be viewed from anywhere.

The National Collage Society (NCS) is a not for profit art organization created in 1985. For the past 36 years, the NCS has fostered collage as a medium. The goal of the National Collage Society is to cultivate the appreciation and interest in the recognized medium of collage. Collage has only been identified and defined during the twentieth century. All artwork must be the exact dimensions 8 x 10 inches (oriented either horizontally or vertically) and may not exceed more than 3 inches off the wall). Accepted mediums include paintings, drawings, and collages. Artwork must be professionally presented and ready to hang securely on a wall with hanging wire. Any artwork without hanging hardware may not be accepted for exhibition on arrival.
Artists may submit up to three works for consideration. Early bird entry fee is $15 for submissions received before March 19th and $25 for submissions received thereafter through April 23rd. Artists will be notified via email about their artwork submission by Saturday, April 29th. Accepted artwork will need to be delivered or shipped to the gallery no later than Saturday, May 20th.

A Juror’s Choice Award and two honorable mentions will be selected by guest juror Haylee Barsky, the curator and founder of Visionary Projects in New York, New York.
Haylee Barsky is an independent curator and designer. She is the founder and curator of Visionary Projects, an international art platform and community established in 2018 to make contemporary art and creativity accessible and inclusive. Haylee received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History and Photography with a Master’s degree in Art Marketing from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, New York, and has worked in the creative departments for Tom Ford, Nylon Magazine, and Moda Operandi.
The exhibition is on view May 26 – June 24, 2023. An Opening Reception will be held on Friday, May 26, 6-9PM at Voss Gallery (3344 24th St., San Francisco, CA 94110). Gallery hours are Wednesday – Saturday, 12:00 – 6:00 PM or by appointment.
Aside from being promoted on the curator and gallery’s social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter) and newsletter (+7K subscribers), selected artists will have the opportunity to showcase their artwork at Voss Gallery. Artists are encouraged to attend and meet collectors at the opening reception.
