Whether it’s a split-second reaction to a decisive action or a series of events unfolding over time, submit your visual interpretations of this theme.

Selected works will be featured in an online curated exhibition on the gallery’s website, providing a platform for photographers to showcase their interpretations of the Action Reaction Exhibition to a wide audience.

  • A cash award of $200 and one copy of the exhibition catalogue will be given to the First Place entry and the photographer will be offered a free gallery in the Featured section of the gallery’s website. This winning entry will be promoted on social media.
  • The Second Place entry will be given a cash award of $100 and one copy of the exhibition catalogue and promotion on social media.
  • The Third Place entry will be given a cash award of $50 and promoted on social media.

All artists age 16 and older, working in any media, may apply to this show. Work previously exhibited in LibertyTown’s gallery is not eligible. Work must be original and not from kits.

Work accepted into the show must be for sale. Applications must be submitted electronically; no physical pieces will be accepted at the gallery for jurying. Work that will be displayed must be ready to show, with no unfired media, no wet paint or other unfinished surfaces. LibertyTown will provide pedestals and shelving as needed. LibertyTown reserves the right to reject works accepted by the juror due to content, space constraints, or inability to properly install the work.

Accepted Work Delivery and Return: You will be notified via Submittable if your work is accepted. Teresa Fankhauser, Executive Director of the Allied Arts Council, hopes to see new artists apply and display their sculptures. “People love walking Downtown and seeing the sculptures,” Fankhauser said. “The sculptures help make Downtown a destination and it’s terrific when another one becomes permanent in St. Joseph.”

The St Joseph Sculpture Walk is an exhibit of beautiful outdoor sculptures displayed for one year in Downtown St Joseph, Missouri. The selected sculptures will be displayed June 12, 2024 through May 12, 2025. Artists receive a $750 honorarium per sculpture selected and compete for up to $13,000 in cash prize awards. Each sculpture is for sale to the public. One sculpture is purchased to become a permanent part of St Joseph’s public art collection each year.

The public is invited to join in the guided First Walk on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, through social media, email blasts, and the press. Invitations to the First Walk reception are sent to community leaders and arts supporters. The sculptors are invited to the reception and encouraged to talk about their sculpture during the First Walk. The reception is very well attended with the Mayor of St Joseph, city council members, and business leaders joining in the event. Reception attendees and walkers from all over the Midwest meet at the corner of 8th and Felix at 6:30 PM to begin the tour of the new sculptures.

This Allied Arts Council program is made possible through a partnership with the City of St Joseph, the St Joseph Downtown Community Improvement District, business sponsors, and Friends of the Sculpture Walk.

Additionally, the Convention and Visitors Bureau of Buchanan County assists in promoting the St Joseph Sculpture Walk with the paid marketing of the event through an annual grant.

The Allied Arts Council was organized in 1963 to provide service to St Joseph area arts organizations, artists, and the general public. The Council has since grown into a federation of fourteen arts agencies and now produces community arts programs, raises funds, promotes public awareness, and provides service and support to its member agencies. Entries of artworks that feature paper as a primary medium will be accepted from across the nation and juried by Janice LaVerne Baker and Lehuauakea for a month-long exhibition in March, 2024, in the Gallery One Main Gallery in downtown Ellensburg, Washington.

Looks Good On Paper Artist Benefits

Artists who are accepted will be included in a month-long exhibition at Gallery One, a bustling gallery, workshop, and event space that receives ample foot traffic as a tourist destination in Central Washington state. In addition, awards totaling $800 will be distributed by the jurors as follows:

  • $300 — Most innovative work depicting paper as a medium
  • $200 – Best 2D use of paper as a medium
  • $200 – Best 3D use of paper as a medium
  • $100 — Award of merit

Artists will be considered for inclusion in group or solo exhibitions in the future.

This call is open to all artists residing in the United States, and is applicable for all mediums including any form of 2D or 3D work.

The exhibition will be juried by Robert Yi. Robert currently serves as the Assistant Director, Senior Graduate and Undergraduate Academic Advisor, and Interim Director of Painting and Drawing at George Mason University’s School of Art in Fairfax, Virginia.

There will be $500 in cash prizes awarded to winners. The Our American Soul national juried show will open with a popular First Friday reception, which can draw over 200 people. There will be live music and light fare to enjoy while viewing artwork.

The historic downtown district features unique shops, restaurants, coffee houses, and clubs making it a top daytrip destination in Northwest Missouri. Brochures on the Sculpture Walk are available throughout the downtown and at the St Joseph Convention and Visitors Bureau office. The Sculpture Walk brochure invites guests to vote for their favorite sculpture for the People’s Choice award.

All participating sculptors are invited to the First Walk reception and guided tour, which is always a draw for area media, local government officials, and outdoor art enthusiasts. Sculptors are invited to speak about their sculpture(s) during the First Walk.

This year-long event puts sculpture in front of area art collectors and provides the opportunity to have a sculpture become a permanent part of downtown St Joseph.

Each week, a sculpture is chosen to the Sculpture of the Week in all Allied Arts Council social media.

To make this event possible, the Allied Arts Council partners with the City of St Joseph and the St Joseph Downtown Community Improvement District.

A standard application includes 2 works, each with a maximum size of 60 cm in height and 80 cm in width, for €290; however, Costanza Foundation Austria are flexible to accommodate your specific needs and will calculate the applicable fee.

Your application should include 2 photos of your artworks (paintings, photography, or sculpture), details of the technique used, work dimensions (maximum 60 cm x 80 cm), or 1 work with dimensions of 100 x 100 cm, year of creation, price, and a portfolio or website link. Upon acceptance, payment must be completed within 2 business days to secure your reservation. If you choose to pay via PayPal, please add 5% to cover their charges. A proof of payment should be submitted.

Venue: Palais Palffy Vienna Josefsplatz 6, 1010 Vienna. Located in the heart of Vienna, with close proximity to Hofburg, the National Library, and easily accessible via public transport. Underground parking is available within a 5-minute walk. The artist is responsible for shipping their works. Costanza Foundation Austria will offer assistance wherever possible. They have negotiated favorable courier rates in Rome for participating artists. Insurance is the artist’s responsibility. Costanza Foundation Austria reserves the right to postpone the exhibition if necessary.

Homage To Mozart Artist Benefits

The Homage to Mozart grand opening will be on December 12th, 2023, and attended by the Founder and President of Costanza Foundation, Dr. Alessandro Costanza. As a participating artist, you will receive a prestigious certificate from Costanza Foundation Austria and professional event photos to commemorate your involvement. You can get a photo book if ordered as well. To add to the festive atmosphere, Italian Prosecco and Austrian Mozart chocolates will be available.

Palais Palffy hosts public concerts, private Christmas parties, business events, and private gatherings in the renowned Figaro Room II every evening throughout this three-week exhibition. This guarantees a steady stream of delighted visitors. The Figaro Room II accommodates up to 180 guests and holds historical significance as the venue where Mozart himself first played “Figaro.”

During daytime, the exhibition is open to visitors upon request.

Jury/Contest: The winner will receive free participation in a future exhibition.
