The goal of the project is to add seating that is both functional and artistically interesting. The imagination of the artist is the guide. There is not a theme for the benches. Selected artists will have their sculpted bench, with recognition, installed at the Bates Street Park and festival street. The chosen artists will receive $8,000 per bench to include design, fabrication, and installation of the bench. Selected artists shall receive one-half of the honorarium upon execution of the contract and one-half upon delivery and installation of the work. The artists bench will be listed along with all other permanent sculpture in the Keller Public Arts permanent collection on the website.
About Keller Public Arts
Keller Public Arts (KPA) is a growing arts program within the City of Keller, Texas. Throughout its history, KPA has acquired 15 permanent sculptures and 11 sculptures, half of which rotate out every 2 years through a call for art.
