Rockdale City Council has an ongoing partnership with ARTSCAPE Consulting to produce the Rockdale Outdoor Gallery Art Prize (ROGAP). The partnership extends the capacity for Council to implement public art projects within the City and celebrate our growing artistic and creative community. ROGAP 2015 also sees a new prize category, supported by the Cooks River Alliance, which will deepen our diversity and strengthen our sustainability whilst giving artists the opportunity to contribute to the environmental debate. We see ROGAP as the ideal platform to explore cultural goals and request artists and creatives to make their practice known to us so we can keep building the creative profile of Rockdale.
Having these partnership in place, ROGAP can provide artists with exposure and possible flow on exhibition opportunities with partner organisations such as ARTSCAPE and Community Connections operating out of neighbouring suburb Wolli Creek at the new estate – as well as within the Rockdale LGA and beyond.
Rockdale City Council services the most diverse cultural community in New South Wales. A community thriving with different cultural traditions and expectations. The public art exhibited in ROGAP aims to bring people of different cultural backgrounds to our open spaces to perceive and interact with art. Rockdale City Council is taking an avid approach to arts and community cultural development and ROGAP is one of the largest platforms which Council provides to encourage and celebrate our community!

Twenty-Two Gallery – We are now reviewing artwork for inclusion in our limited “Artist Membership Gallery”. This type of art gallery is similar to a cooperative, but with less responsibilities and more benefits to the artist.
We offer 3 levels of membership. There is no entry or jury fee at this time. There is no restrictions on the artist as far as showing elsewhere. We like to have a 1 year commitment from our artists. For more information on the responsibilities and benefits, please go to our website and view the “Contact Us” page, then click on the “Member Inquiries” link (see link below).
Let us know if you have any questions. We would need to see samples of your work. A website is preferable. Then, if we feel that it could be a good fit for the gallery, we would have to arrange to see the work in person.
We have been in business at the same location since 2003. We have offered the finest in local artwork for 11 years and have a great reputation for doing so. We offer a unique and very reasonable service to local artists that gets their artwork out in front of people while freeing them up to concentrate more on their art.
