The Bicycle 2019: Art Meets Form (High Point, NC) – Call For Artists

Theatre Art Galleries (TAG) is pleased to announce a call for artists for the juried art exhibit, The Bicycle 2019: Art Meets Form (8/27/19 – 10/4/19). This is the fourth year for the exhibit. It is held in conjunction with the High Point Cycling Classic. The opening reception is Thursday, September 5th, from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at TAG. It will feature original works of art that relates in some way to bicycles or cycling.

The Bicycle 2019 prizes awarded during the opening reception are First Place: $500, Second Place: $250, and Third Place: $100. All of the art will be available for sale and open to the public for the duration of the exhibit. The artists will receive 60% of the retail value of sales. Over 1200 patrons will be invited to the opening reception and thousands more will be notified of the event through press releases, newspapers, websites, and social media. Advertising for the event will be published across North and South Carolina. The galleries will be open during the High Point Cycling Classic with hundreds of cycling enthusiasts touring the galleries throughout the day.

Social Equity

TAG participates in many outreach opportunities by working with children, special needs children, senior citizens, refugees, and many of the public schools in our county. It has brought art appreciation to areas of need all over the county. TAG has provided a creative outlet to many who otherwise would not have experienced these opportunities.

About Theatre Art Galleries

Theatre Art Galleries (TAG) is now in its 22nd year of independent operation. It is High Point’s primary provider of visual arts. Its mission is to provide excellent visual art exhibits and educational art experiences for the enrichment of the entire community. Housed inside of the High Point Theatre (in downtown High Point, NC) are two floors of spacious galleries where TAG programs approximately 16 exhibitions yearly. TAG hosts exhibitions of visual art from artists and students from local schools. Exhibitions and opening receptions are free of charge and open to the public.

The Bicycle – Call For Artists

Theatre Art Galleries (TAG) of High Point, NC is pleased to announce a call for artists for the annual juried exhibit, The Bicycle: Art Meets Form. Opening August 30th and on view until September 28th. This is the fourth year for the exhibit. It will be held in conjunction with the High Point Cycling Classic benefiting the Bobby Labonte Foundation in downtown High Point. This event takes place over the course of three days packed full of events in a beautiful downtown area. The cycling community will be part of this collaboration of art, sport, competition, and community.

The Bicycle exhibition will feature original works of art by artists from across the United States. The art must relate in some way to bicycles or cycling. The opening reception will be held Thursday, September 6th from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at TAG. The exhibit and reception are free and open to the public.

Prizes will be awarded during the opening reception for First Place: $1000, Second Place: $500, and Third Place: $250. Artists will have the opportunity to sell their work.

Theatre Art Galleries (TAG) began as a program of the High Point Area Arts Council. In 1996, Theatre Art Galleries was incorporated as a separate 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. TAG is now in its 22nd year of independent operation. Since the opening of the High Point Theatre facility in 1975, TAG has been High Point’s primary provider of visual arts. The High Point Theatre offers a wide range of performing arts throughout the year that complement TAG’s visual art exhibits. Day in the Park – Call for Artists

The High Point Arts Council is seeking performing artists, visual artists, and crafters to be a part of this years Day in the Park Festival.

Deadline: 12 Sept 2015

Artists will be given the chance to show off and sell their work to an estimated crowd of 5,000 people.

Since 1962 the Arts Council has served the arts needs of the community. In addition to its own arts programming, the High Point Area Arts Council is a united arts council with five affiliated arts organizations under its umbrella.
