About Rochester Contemporary Art Center

RoCo is a venue for the exchange of ideas whose mission is to support and exhibit artists who address pressing issues through their work, especially emerging artists, both from Rochester and beyond. It is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) that was founded in 1977. As a center for thoughtful contemporary art, RoCo provides unique encounters for audiences and extraordinary opportunities for artists. They host five or six exhibitions each year, including a Members Exhibition in the winter and an annual fundraising exhibition, 6×6, every summer. Other exhibitions are often curated or juried, many times in partnership with other local or regional organizations and curators. RoCi has a special focus and interest in providing curated video programs in their media room and public art in the park outside their building.
