The Miami Circle of Contemporary Art is pleased to announce the first International Annual Photography Competition and Juried Exhibition, Viewfinder, for emerging photographers. The objective is to explore the view of the artists as they see the world through their lenses, so there is no specific topic for this competition. Artworks will be judged based on creativity, excellence, composition, originality and artistic ability.

The top artist submissions for Viewfinder will participate in the juried exhibition. The best pieces will be awarded first, second and third places, and honorable mentions if applicable. The first place will win a two month residency at the MCCA Gallery and an opportunity for an exhibition, along with national and international exposure, diploma, and award. Second and third places will win diploma and award. Honorable mentions will be given a diploma. All selected artwork will be in the heart of the Miami Design District where top buyers and stores are located and easily reached.

The Starry Night Residency Program provides artists, writers, and curators the opportunity to live and work within a small, creative community.

Located in the downtown historic hot springs district of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, the program is a place where our participants can find quiet solitude and focus on their work. In operation from May through September, residencies are a minimum of 1 week and a maximum of 8 weeks. The residency includes a private, fully furnished apartment with private bathroom and kitchen, shared studio space, and courtyard with gardens, barbecue, and campfire area. Emerging artists, writers, and arts administrators are encouraged to apply. Participants may apply to bring their partners or a creative team member for the duration of their residency. There is no application fee.
1. Artists accepted into the residency program will have the option of being included in our third edition of Artists to Look Out For, published in paperback and digital editions, and will be available for distribution via Amazon, Lulu Press, and Kindle in December 2016.
2. Artists accepted into the residency program will have the opportunity to enroll in our online professional practices program, Artist Resources & Tools, at an 80% discount. Standard enrollment fees for the 8 week course are $995, but artists who are accepted into the residency program have the option to enroll in the self study or the interactive, guided course beginning in the Spring of 2016 for only $195. This program is geared towards visual artists, but the course content can be applied to other disciplines as well.
Starry Night is dedicated to the advancement of artists through multiple programs that nurture and support their careers. This includes the programs mentioned above, as well as the Starry Night Exposure program, which brings the work of contemporary, emerging artists to Miami for exhibition during Art Basel Miami. The Exposure program is for serious visual artists who wish to gain rapid exposure at the largest art fair in the Americas. This opportunity is exclusively for working artists who are looking to secure relationships with galleries, dealers, and collectors in the high traffic environment of Art Basel Miami, while developing their professional presentation for a successful career in the arts.

Projects Gallery announces a call for artists for its third edition of Square Foot Art Basel Miami.

Open to all artists in all medias. All works (including framing) must not exceed the allotted space of 12″x12″, and the retail price should not exceed $1,000.
The first 100 artists to apply are guaranteed a minimum of one piece in the exhibition. In addition, 24 artists will be selected for inclusion in the gallery’s exhibition at the Aqua Art Fair at the Aqua Hotel, Miami Beach, FL December 2-6, 2015. This truly democratic method eliminates the process of judging and allows the public to decide on the quality of the art. It permits artists who would not have any other means to be on display during one of the world’s largest art events.
Since its inception in Philadelphia in 2004, Projects Gallery has always reached out in unusual ways to work with artists and the arts community. Past collaborations have involved the Philadelphia Mural Arts Program, the Brandywine Workshop & Archives, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, art student shows from local colleges, and so forth.
