The City of Norwalk Parking Authority’s Maritime Garage Gallery is inviting submissions of art from artists 18 and over for its winter exhibit, Seeds Of Peace, that will run from December 10, 2019 through February 29, 2020. The Maritime Garage Gallery’s Seeds of Peace exhibit is seeking works of art that embrace the idea of harmony, tranquility, generosity, calmness, and peaceful feelings. Clever uses of medium, with the exception of pedestal sculpture, are welcome. Nadia Martinez will be curating the exhibit.

The Garage has between 500 and 700 cars going in and out daily, with an average of three passengers. This brings an estimated 1,500 – 2,100 daily impressions to the space. In addition, there will be an opening reception that will be attended by artists, Parking Authority representatives, area politicians, notables, and the public. The Gallery promotes the opening reception and exhibit in all local media outlets.

The Maritime Garage Gallery was founded by the Norwalk Parking Authority as part of its Art in Parking Places initiative. This effort to support art in public spaces, includes several permanent public art exhibits in the South Norwalk Railroad Station that highlight the city’s maritime tradition and other historical facts about town. These installations were made possible by a grant provided by the Federal transportation Enhancement Public Art Program. Small Treasures (Norwalk, CT) – Call For Artists

The City of Norwalk Parking Authority’s Maritime Garage Gallery is inviting submissions of art from artists 18 and over for its summer exhibit, Small Treasures. The exhibit will run from July 15 through October 5, 2019. The Maritime Garage Gallery’s Small Treasures exhibit is seeking works of art that are small in size but large on creativity. The height and width of the pieces must be no larger than 12 inches and no more than 5 inches in depth, including the frame. Clever uses of medium, with the exception of pedestal sculpture, are welcome. Nadia Martinez will be curating the exhibit.

Migrating Colors celebrates the abundance of colors that awaken viewers to color’s brilliant presence, especially during the winter months when the colors we surround ourselves with can affect significantly our mood. The Gallery is seeking works inspired by color, its effects, meaning, value, and playfulness. The exhibit will run from September 21 through December 2, 2016.

The Fall Kismet Exhibit will focus on the theme of fate or destiny; the force that is believed to control the future. From relationships to fashion and from the environment to politics, kismet plays a role. Pieces should represent how kismet controls the outcome in the community, the world, or the artists’ life. Clever uses of medium and interpretations on subject are welcome.

This is an opportunity to display art in a public space that sees between 1,500 and 2,100 visitors daily. Opening night reception attended by local art aficionados as well as representatives of local business and government.

The City of Norwalk Parking Authority’s Maritime Garage Gallery is inviting submissions from artists, 18 and over, for a new exhibit at the Maritime Gallery, Aqua Exhibit, that will run from April 13 through July 8, 2016.

The exhibit, Aqua, will represent art that uses water as an inspiration.  With the 71% of the earth’s surface covered with water, we are constantly reminded of the beauty, the magic, the strength, and the importance of this substance. It is powerful yet fragile, peaceful yet tremendous, abundant yet scarce.

Chosen artists will have their art on display in a separate gallery in a busy parking garage in the downtown area that has more than 1,500 people going in and out of it daily.

The exhibit will run from September 29 through January 4, 2016.

The exhibit, entitled “Flux” will represent art with the theme of states of constant change; flow, melt, unrest, volatility. Flux is all around us in the form of science, medicine, physics, chemistry, and even in an emotional sense. How does the artist represent flux -or how does flux represent them?

Artists will be part of an exhibit in a public space that has a daily estimated traffic of: 1,500 – 2,100 visitors. Promotions and public relations for the exhibit may feature their work as well.
