Women Who Take Joyful Ownership – Call For Artists

Carrollwood Cultural Center announces a call for artists for Women Who Take Joyful Ownership (of their Value in the World), an art exhibition dedicated to works that primarily refer to women and young ladies who have changed the world through their inner strength, perseverance, determination, courage, vulnerability, uniqueness, and raw love. These women have made every day changes with grace, humility, integrity, and joy in their hearts. The exhibit will be in the Gallery at Carrollwood Cultural Center in Tampa, Florida in May 2019.

Carrollwood Cultural Center accepts 2D and 3D creations including watercolor, acrylic, oil, assemblage, encaustic, mixed media, sculpture, and photography. All work must be original. This call is open to all living artists within the state of Florida who are 15 years or older. Up to five entries may be submitted. Pricing structure is as follows: 1 piece = $20; 2 = $35; 3 = $45; and 5 = $60.

The Gallery gives artists the opportunity to display in Hillsborough County’s largest gallery. Awards for Women Who Take Joyful Ownership will be given for first, second, third, and up to three honorable mentions. Awards will be giving during the open reception on May 10, 2019.

Black And White Art Show – Call For Artists

Carrollwood Cultural Center announces a call for artists for the Black and White Art Show, an art exhibition that showcases the powerful, yet graceful, restraint required for creating art using only a black and white palette. While the subject matter is open, the color palette is limited to tones of black, grays, and white. Original works only.

Artists are invited to enter up to three works at $15 each for the Black And White Art Show. Space is limited. The Center is a family-friendly facility; therefore, they cannot accept work with blatant violence, guns/weapons, or nudity. The exhibition is open to all living artists within the state of Florida. Large works (50″ in any direction) are ideal. Small works are fine as long as they are framed properly. Limited pedestals for 3-dimensional pieces are available.

Important dates for the Black And White Art Show

  • Delivery of Artwork: Mon., November 26 / 2-6 p.m.
  • Gallery opening and reception: Fri., December 7 / 5-8 p.m.
  • Pick up: Wed., January 2 / 10 a.m.-1 p.m.

The magic of the Carrollwood Cultural Center began several years ago with a special partnership between Hillsborough County and the Friends of Carrollwood Cultural Center (FCCC), a non-profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for residents through arts and culture. Together, they have brought the community together through the arts.

At the Carrollwood Cultural Center, you are invited to learn a new skill, revisit an old one, or simply “do that one thing you’ve always wanted to do.”

Through art, ceramics, dance, music, and theatre you will gain a new appreciation for the arts – perhaps even discover a talent you never knew you had. Regardless of the reason, there is always something new and exciting to learn at the Carrollwood Cultural Center.

At the Carrollwood Cultural Center, magic is around every corner. Music fills the air, colors dress the walls, dancers float on stage, and drama evokes emotion. The Center has been honored to host an array of local talents from visual artists, instrumentalists, singers, dancers, and theatre groups.

C3 Art Show – Call For Artists

C3 Art Show – Call For Artists

Carrollwood Cultural Center announces a call for artists for the C3 Art Show including expressive works encompassing visual stories of cultures and worldly people living authentically within their environment. The Gallery accepts 2D and limited 3D pieces including watercolor, acrylic, oil, photography, etchings, assemblage, encaustic, mixed media, and sculpture. This call is open to all living artists within the state of Florida who are 18 years and older.

The Carrollwood Cultural Center is a family-friendly facility; therefore, artwork for the C3 Art Show cannot include blatant violence, guns, or nudity. All art must be original and have been completed within the last three years. Large works, up to 50″, are ideal. Smaller works are acceptable as long as they are properly framed. An artist may enter up to five pieces. The entry fee is $15 per piece. Artwork must be delivered on October 29, between 2 and 6 p.m.

The Gallery is a great place for professional artists to showcase their work in an area with high foot traffic. The Center partners with local schools, groups, art organizations, and artists by providing the opportunity to showcase their work in an venue. An artist reception and awards ceremony for the C3 Art Show is scheduled for November 2. Art pick-up will be November 26 between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Tempus Projects Artist Residency – Call For Artists

Tempus Projects in Tampa, Florida is currently accepting applications for the Tempus Projects Artist Residency program.

Call for artists application / registration

The residency begins January 12, 2017.

One artist will be provided housing and studio space for one month and the opportunity to install a month-long solo exhibition following the residency. Selected artists receive a $1000.00 stipend toward living and working expenses for the duration of their stay.

Tempus Projects is dedicated to nurturing artists through exhibitions and events. The non-profit organization promotes artists and originates, organizes, and hosts exhibitions that engage the Tampa Bay community through the visual arts. The Tempus Projects Artist Residency is the first of its kind in the Tampa Bay area.

Carrollwood Cultural Center (CCC) invites artists to render truth and iconology for the Illuminations: Truth and Iconology Art Show to be held September and October, 2016.

Illuminations entries must contain an image and words or words that are illustrations.

Ribbons and prizes will be awarded at the reception. First Prize $100, 2nd Prize $75, 3rd Prize $50. Honorable mentions $25 gift certificates to CCC.

The Carrollwood Cultural Center hosts a variety of art shows in our three exhibition spaces.
