Each year, the Downtown St Joseph Sculpture Walk opens with a guided “First Walk,” which is attended by over 100 guests. The event begins with a reception where the first, second, and third prize winners are announced. This is the 10th year for this project. It has a solid audience throughout the area including the Kansas City Metro region. The St Joseph Convention and Visitors Bureau aids in promoting the event. Local residents and tourists are invited to vote for the People’s Choice award.

Teresa Fankhauser, Executive Director of the Allied Arts Council, said she hopes to see new artists apply and display their sculptures. “People love walking Downtown and seeing the sculptures,” Fankhauser said. “It’s great to see sculptures become permanent in St Joseph.”
