Enter by: 13 June 2024

Artists may enter and win in one or multiple categories. The competition is open to all those who wish to apply worldwide. There is no limit to the number of artworks you may enter.

Unlike many other competitions, the International ARC Salon is only dedicated to representational art and artists. Representational artwork in all styles spanning from highly realistic to impressionistic to imaginative qualify. To ARC’s knowledge there is not another visual art competition that offers the number of categories and diversity of awards as the ARC Salon Art Competition. Organizations from around the world participate by offering a variety of prizes and opportunities for artists.

The ARC Salon is flexible for artists in that works entered into the competition do not have to be available for sale, though there are sale opportunities for works that are, and works do not have to be available to travel in the live exhibition to compete and win the top awards in the competition. There are always enough works that are available to create the show.

ARC Salon Artist Benefits

Over 180 awards and honorable mentions. Applicants will have a chance to participate in the planned exhibition at Sotheby’s New York in the summer of 2026.

All winners, honorable mentions, finalists, and semi-finalists will have their entries accompanied by their name and artwork details displayed on the ARC website. Biography, photo of the artist, and painting descriptions provided during the entry process may be shown for all qualifying works. All winners, honorable mentions, and some finalists will be featured in the 17th/18th International ARC Salon Book, “International Realism”. In addition, all winners and honorable mentions will receive an award certificate suitable for framing.

About The Art Renewal Center

The ARC is devoted to promoting education in realistic art utilizing training techniques and the proliferation of historical art works. The philosphy, written by ARC Chairman, Frederick C. Ross, delves into the significance of realistic artworks and what they mean to humanity as a whole. Learn how art is a universal language and how to tell the difference between a work of art that is successful and one that falls short.

Decay, Corrosion, Rust (Online Photography Competition) – Call For Artists

Decay, Corrosion, Rust (Online Photography Competition) – Call For Artists

Side Arts Certified Sponsored Listing] The New York Center for Photographic Art (NYC4PA) announces a call for artists for Decay, Corrosion, Rust, an online photography competition.

“And behind door number 2. A brand new…” United States television prizes are all about the “new.” Though we often focus on the new and shiny there is amazing beauty in the decayed, corroded, and rusted. It can make images of those items so much more compelling and interesting.

Consider the textures and colors in an abandoned, dilapidated factory or prison, rust on an old bike, contrasting plaster and lathing on a corroded wall, and myriad of possible captures in a junkyard. Neighborhoods, disparagingly called “run down,” are treasure troves of “decayed” tumble down houses, “corroded” discarded toys, “rusted” cars, and trash cans.

Click here for the application / registration

Enter by: 14 April 2024

Decay, Corrosion, Rust can take many forms – black and white, color, or abstract. All photographic media are welcome.

As with all NYC4PA calls, all 2D photographic art is accepted. Images awarded an NYC4PA prize within the past 2 years are not eligible. Images submitted that were not selected for a prize may be submitted at any time.

NYC4PA offers opportunities to participate in themed calls for photographers. Each call has a different theme and 50 images win. The prizes total $4000. There is a grand prize, 3 first prizes, 3 second prizes, 3 third prizes, 20 juror’s selections, and 20 honorable mentions. All 50 winners are posted in a gallery on the NYC4PA website and included in an exhibition gallery. The call is open to any photographers worldwide and of any age, amateurs or professional.
