The Decatur Arts Alliance invites artists to apply for booth space at the Decatur Artists’ Market 2020 in the 32nd annual Decatur Arts Festival. The festival will be held on the square in historic Decatur, GA, just minutes from downtown Atlanta. The Artists’ Market will be open on Memorial Day weekend, Saturday, May 23 from 10 am until 6 pm, and on Sunday May 24 from 11 am until 5 pm.

The Decatur Arts Festival is produced by the Decatur Arts Alliance, LLC, a 501 (c) 3 organization, supporting the arts and arts education in Decatur, GA. The festival features continuous entertainment and performing arts in the Community Bandstand adjacent to the Artists’ Market. Food vendors, a fine arts exhibition, the ArtWalk, theater, new dance, and a children’s festival are part of the festival activities.

Decatur Artists’ Market 2020 Artists Benefits

Cash prize for Best of Show is $1000, Second Place is $700, and Third Place is $500. The Best of Show winner will receive an invitation to the 2021 show free of charge. Second and Third Place will receive invitation to the 2021 show at half price.

The Decatur Arts Festival draws approximately 60,000 people to downtown Decatur for a celebration of the arts. This large audience represents a broad spectrum of knowledge and appreciation of the arts. The Decatur Artists’ Market 2020 addresses this spectrum with a diversity of styles and media.

The Decatur Arts Alliance invites artists working in all media to participate in the Decatur Fine Art Exhibition 2020 of the 32nd Annual Decatur Arts Festival. The exhibition is a juried multimedia presentation that contributes a fresh and unique perspective to the festival every year.

The Decatur Arts Festival draws approximately 60,000 people to downtown Decatur for a celebration of the arts that includes a juried Artists Market, Children’s Festival, New Dance, Literary Arts, Performing Arts Stage, and a Concert on the Square, as well as the Decatur Fine Art Exhibition 2020. This large audience represents a broad spectrum of knowledge and appreciation of the arts, and the exhibition addresses this spectrum with a diversity of styles and media. Works selected for the show reflect a wide range of artists’ experiences and viewpoints, with excellence as a common thread.

Decatur Fine Art Exhibition 2020 Artist Benefits

Purchase awards totaling $2,500 are selected by the City of Decatur, Decatur Business Association, and Decatur Downtown Development Authority for the City of Decatur’s public art collection. Additional purchase awards are being solicited.

Sales are encouraged. The Decatur Arts Alliance handles all sales and collects a 25% commission on all artwork sold as a result of this exhibition. All artwork for sale must be priced by the artist and so stated in the entry. Please be sure to include the 25% commission for the Decatur Arts Alliance in your price. The 7% Georgia sales tax will be added at the point of sale. Sales from the fine art exhibition have increased each year. Works from the exhibition have been added to private, corporate, and non-profit collections.

Button Art is seeking artist submissions for button sculpture installations following Gwinnett’s Bicentennial Anniversary. To further the love of art in Gwinnett, Button Art – in collaboration with artists across all mediums and boundaries – will manage, create, and install 200 original button sculpture installations throughout Gwinnett inspired by the County’s 200th birthday and celebrating the future of Gwinnett. Each button sculpture will have a plaque bearing names of sponsors and the artist.

The Tifton Museum of Arts and Heritage announces a call for artists for Celebrate Creativity, an art showoff and sale. To be held Saturday, November 9th at 10 am to 4 pm and Sunday, November 10th at 1 pm to 4 pm.

Submit up to three pieces of artwork inside and reserve a 10X10 space outside to set up a display booth. More than one medium is allowed; however, only one artist is allowed per booth. Each artist should register and pay for a booth separately. Please provide at least two photos of each medium you will bring. The Tifton Museum of Arts and Heritage will display as much art as the building and grounds allow. When the limit is reached, entries will be cut off. This is not a juried show. The Museum needs to know what art is coming so they can plan how to display it. A qualified judge will select the most creative and skilled work. Celebrate Creativity prizes totaling at least $1,500 will be awarded.

The Tifton Museum of Arts and Heritage is housed in a 115-years-old architectural treasure that was originally the First Methodist Church. The building was the first brick church built in the community. It brought a refined elegance at the turn of the century to the growing rural town. The Tifton Museum of Arts and Heritage serves as a cultural anchor for downtown Tifton. It provides regular arts, education, and cultural programming to people of all ages and interests. In addition, the facility is frequently rented for weddings, receptions, and a variety of community social and civic events. Decatur Artway Phase V (Decatur, GA) – Call For Artists

The Decatur Arts Alliance seeks sculptures to be placed in the city of Decatur, Georgia as part of Decatur Artway Phase V. Sculptors are encouraged to be a part of this two-year sculpture exhibition.

Deadline: 31 Jul 2019

The sculpture must be available for the duration of the two-year contract. All submissions must be professionally constructed of durable materials which will withstand the elements. No maquettes or renderings will be considered for selection. Decatur Arts Alliance will only accept existing and ready to install works. All durable outdoor media are encouraged. Delivery and installation of the selected work will be scheduled the week of October 7 through 11. If the submitted work has been selected and confirmed for another exhibition before July 31, 2019, please contact Angie Macon, Decatur Arts Alliance at your earliest convenience.

Decatur Artway Phase V Artist Benefits

Decatur Artway Phase V selected artists will be awarded an honorarium of $2000. The installed work may be available for sale. Artwork sold as a result of the Decatur Artway will be subject to a 20% commission. It will be deducted from the purchase price and retained by the Decatur Arts Alliance.

The Decatur Arts Alliance will, in partnership with the Decatur Tourism Bureau and the Downtown Development Authority, market the Decatur Artway to include (but not limited to) printed walking/cycling/driving sculpture tours, online tour with a mobile app, and docent lead tours for visitors and residents. The Decatur Artway opening will include an artist talk which will be videotaped and used on the mobile app and website.

Atlanta BeltLine announces a call for artists for the Art on the Atlanta BeltLine. They seek visual artists, performers, musicians, lecturers, and art historians to apply for the 2019 exhibition season. Art On The Atlanta BeltLine Artist Benefits

The Atlanta BeltLine is the largest temporary public art exhibit in the South, with over 20,000 visitors each week spanning the seven miles of walkable trails. This is the tenth anniversary of Art on the Atlanta BeltLine. With the opening of the Southside interim hiking trail, there will be 12 miles linear gallery space. Accepted works will be experienced by members of over 45 in-town neighborhoods with their diverse backgrounds and culture histories, as well as the myriad unique visitors to the Atlanta-based trails annually. Artist Made Gifts – Call For Artists

Mason Fine Art announces a call for artists for Artist Made Gifts, a holiday art fair in Atlanta, Georgia, November 23 – 25, 2018. The participating artists will be mainly art and contemporary craft.

Artist Made Gifts participation is limited to 60 artists. Wide range of price points in this show. The exhibition space will be divided into 8 ft. x 8 ft. sections (it will not be pipe and draped). The fee for entry will be $500. This will include the space, signage, and, if desired, a table, chairs, waste basket, power, and signage at no additional cost. The gallery is well lit with tract lighting. For an extra fee of $50, use the wall space in the booth area. The choice of booth space is on a first come first served basis; however, the Mason Gallery retains the right to change space if necessary.

The show will be publicized through full-page ads in Atlanta Magazine and the Atlantan, spots on NPR, and social media reach.

The sculpture will be installed in the Oakhurst neighborhood of Decatur, GA, recently named a 2018 All American City. It is located five miles from downtown Atlanta. Decatur is known for its pedestrian friendly downtown district and is accessible by three rapid rail stations. Although Decatur, GA, is part of the Atlanta metro area, it is a city unto itself with an identity all its own. At 23,000 people, Decatur sits just to the east of Atlanta. It has become a favorite of single professionals, young couples, and families thanks to its strong schools, low crime rate, and beautiful historic homes.
