International Photography Competition (Halifax, NS) – Call For Artists

[Sponsored Listing] ViewPoint Gallery announces a call for artists for their International Photography Competition 2022. Open to photographers worldwide. There are no restrictions on subject matter. The images will be reviewed by an independent jury of established photographers who will select 12 images for exhibition at ViewPoint Gallery in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.

This is an opportunity to exhibit your work for one month at ViewPoint Gallery, a dynamic photography gallery located in historic Bedford, Nova Scotia, close to downtown Halifax. ViewPoint is dedicated solely to photography. It is the only co-operative photography gallery in Eastern Canada.

Entry fee of $25 US. A maximum of three images may be submitted with each entry. Multiple entries are permitted. Current ViewPoint members and their immediate families are ineligible. Only images submitted by the artists who created them and hold sole copyright will be considered.

International Photography Competition Artist Benefits

Twelve winning images will be selected for exhibition at ViewPoint Gallery – one image will be exhibited monthly. The winning images will be professionally printed and framed at no cost to the photographer. The images will be promoted on ViewPoint’s website and newsletter.

Each winning image will be matted, framed, and displayed as ViewPoint Gallery’s featured International Artist of the Month. Winning images will be available for sale (unframed) at a price set by the artist. If the image is sold in the gallery, then the artist will receive the full sale price minus a 15% processing fee.

[Sponsored Listing] The New York Center for Photographic Art (NYC4PA) announces a call for artists for The Human Body, an online photography exhibition. Lately there has been much focus on human body, in all aspects of our life, from the spiritual to the everyday.

What can you show in public? What can’t you show? We decorate our body – from tattoos to nail polish. Should we fix a nose or large tummy. Do we want to pierce our noses, ears, lips, or navels? How long should we let our hair grow? This art call’s focus is on bodies – from head to toe, in and out of focus, as a well-lit image or silhouette, dressed, or undressed.

No sexually explicit images. Nudes are just fine. As with all calls, all 2D photographic art is accepted.

NYC4PA gives photographers worldwide an opportunity to participate in themed calls for photographers. Each call offered has a different theme and 50 images win. The prizes total $4000. There is a grand prize, 3 first prizes, 3 second prizes, 3 third prizes, 20 juror’s selections, and 20 honorable mentions. All 50 winners are posted in a gallery on the NYC4PA website and included in an exhibition gallery. The call is open to any photographers worldwide and of any age, amateurs or professional. A professional photographer, gallery owner, or photography teacher is the juror.

This exhibition is open to all photography highlighting both residential and commercial architecture within Sarasota County to showcase at Art Center Sarasota. This show is open to all photography media. Juror(s) will see all requested information except the artist’s name and price. ACS Exhibitions Committee asks jurors to make all selections based solely on artistic merit. In an effort to maintain best gallery practices, ACS implements the following rules and regulations for this juried exhibition.

Awards will be decided by the jurors, Carl Abbott – FAIA, award winning local architect and member of the Sarasota School of Architecture, and Noelle McCleaf – photographer exploring themes of memory, relationship, and identity in the landscape of South Florida.
