[Side Arts Certified Sponsored Listing] Susquehanna Art Museum announces a call for artists for Transformative Craft, their 8th annual juried exhibition. Submit transformative works that highlight the considerable attention to detail, process-based skill, and inventiveness that exemplify contemporary craft.
Artistic craft practices of all varieties share the skillful ability to transform material. Contemporary craft artists combine meticulous workmanship with traditional materials to create masterful objects that transcend hierarchical categorization.

Artworks selected for Transformative Craft will highlight the unique possibilities of transforming traditional craft materials into contemporary works of art. Work in all media is welcome for consideration. Selections will be made based on the applicability to the theme and the group of pieces that work best as a whole.
Transformative Craft Artist Benefits
Two prizes are available for this exhibition. The Juror’s Choice Prize winner is awarded $400. The Viewer’s Choice Prize winner is awarded $250. The Susquehanna Art Museum welcomes thousands of visitors of all ages throughout this exhibition to learn, explore, and engage with art on view. This exhibition will be used as a teaching tool for the local elementary school students, to which the museum provides weekly art education. This exhibition will be on view during Harrisburg’s annual Gallery Walk event, the museum’s best attended day of the year.
