[Sponsored Listing] The Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition (BWAC) announces a call for artists for Recycle 2021, a national juried show of art crafted from cast‐off, discarded, and re‐purposed materials and celebration of ingenuity and imagination.
BWAC is seeking to exhibit sophisticated two‐ and three‐ dimensional art created in the re‐use genre. The juror is John Cloud Daiser, Director of Education from Materials of the Arts.

As well as looking for skill in the use of material, BWAC wants to see art that demonstrates the importance of conserving limited natural resources. They will be looking for how well the medium relates to the upcycling movement and how fully the artist’s intention or concept is presented and realized. The event returns on Saturday, September 18, 2021, to the American Street Corridor in Kensington. InLiquid is joining forces with NextFAB and the Clay Studio’s Clayfest for a multi-block artisan fair. InLiquid’s long standing event, Art for the Cash Poor, is popular in the Philadelphia art community. It is an affordable art fair with all works priced $200 and below. The audience is made up heavily of curators, gallerists, art consultants, and art collectors. The event has been recognized, over the years, as a go-to place to find affordable art. It is an opportunity for people at all points to start collecting art or add to their art collection. While this event is specifically targeted toward affordable art, many artists have gained additional opportunities including commissions, exhibitions, and gallery representation.

Deja 42 Art Gallery promotes featured artists through social media such as Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter as well as the gallery’s website. Showing artists receive 60% of their retail ask. Openings are every second Saturday of the month. Openings draw a big crowd in an intimate space. This offers promotion, exposure, and open discussion among artists and potential buyers.

Awards will be chosen by the juror in person when all works are onsite and installed at Art Center Sarasota. Art Center Sarasota is located at 707 N. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota.
Five Awards are given per show: First, Second, and Third Place plus two Merit Awards and four Special Awards. First place winner receives $800, Second Place $600, Third Place $400, each Merit Award $100 and each Special Award $50. All winners are required to fill out a W9 form prior to receiving a cash prize.

Art Center Sarasota was the first arts and cultural institution in Sarasota, FL. It was founded in 1926 as the “Sarasota Art Association” by Marcia Rader, the art supervisor for the Sarasota County schools district. In the early years, the group met monthly and sponsored exhibits in rented facilities. The Association was incorporated as a not-for-profit organization in 1943. It has been in its current location in the Sarasota Bayfront Cultural District since 1949.
Art Center Sarasota is a member-supported organization that offers curated and juried exhibitions, adult and youth education programs, outreach initiatives for underserved youth, and culturally related public programming.
