This is an opportunity to have your work selected by an Art Renewal Center Associate Living Master Artist who has exhibited his work widely both nationally and internationally and has been a master teacher for over twenty years, teaching how to capture the essence and spirit of a subject and tell stories in art to communicate emotion.
Entrants will have the opportunity to win one of three awards – $1200 Best in Show, $800 Second Place, or $400 Third Place and be invited to a future winners exhibition. Besides being shown in the gallery, all selected artists will have their work shown on the Mills Pond Gallery website.

Adaptation of Mills Pond House for public use has introduced modern mechanical systems to the structure without impairing its historic integrity. Gallery lighting and handicapped access have been designed to complement the original building. Notable among the circa 1838 Grecian details are the gold-veined marble mantelpieces, ornamental plater “centres” applied to the ceilings, and front and rear stoops supported by wooden Doric columns.
Mills Pond house preserves the locality’s name, but departs from tradition in other respects. Its high-style Grecian design is unusual on Long Island and the hand of an accomplished architect is nearly unique at this early date. Pollard’s influence is seen in the use of imported materials: Albany boards, Carolina yellow pine, English glass, Connecticut stone, and Santo Domingan mahogany. The silvered hardware, decorative plaster, and carpeting were bought in New York City shops. William Wickham Mills died in 1865. His home descended in the family until its gift to the Town of Smithtown in 1976. Today, it is preserved for use as an arts-related facility.

Memories are often the inspiration for art. Artists give life to the characters and environments of our childhood memories, recording fragments of dreams, snippets of passing time, and experiences that have shaped our lives. This call asks artists to explore childhood memories – early rituals, rites of passage, and innocence of early life experiences that celebrate the passionate world of childhood. Examples include childhood memories pertaining to a specific event or experience that has previously occurred. For example, recollection of an episode among friends or family members in a specific time (holidays), places (school), and/or and memories of the associated emotions of the event.

Entries will be judged on the originality and insight with which they embody this theme visually. Painting, drawing, mixed media, sculpture, photography, and printmaking will be considered. No digital art, manipulated photography, or video.
Selected artists will have the opportunity to exhibit in an historic gallery facility that is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places. They will have the opportunity to have their art judged by Seung Lee for awards $500 Best in Show, $300 Second Place, $100 Third Place.
Seung Lee’s paintings, drawings, and large-scale installations have been exhibited extensively in the United States and internationally – China, Italy, France, Japan, and Korea. [Side Arts Certified Sponsored Listing] The Berkeley Arts Council (BAC) announces a call for artists for the 13th Annual Art and Earth Juried Art Exhibit. The exhibit will be on display from Wednesday, April 5 to Saturday, May 13, 2023, at the Berkeley Art Works, 116 North Queen Street, Martinsburg, West Virginia. This is the 13th year of this annual exhibit, which has reached a national constituency since it’s beginning in 2010. It is the Berkeley Arts Council’s premier annual event.
The exhibit has the theme ‘Art and Earth: My Art – My World’. Entries should reflect the artist’s view of nature, the environment, or reflect an Earth Day related theme.

In the late 1800s, visitors were making an annual pilgrimage through the canyons to camp at Laguna Beach each summer. By 1903, painters like Norman St Clair were visiting from San Francisco, attracted to the landscape and light only found on the coast of Laguna. Like tourists of any era, St Clair returned home with glowing reports and landscape paintings that led his artist friends to follow him south. It wasn’t long before plein air (painting outdoors) artists like William Wendt and Frank Cuprien moved to Laguna Beach.
Laguna Beach is now a world class art destination with multiple art events held throughout the year.

All artists age 16 and older, working in any media, may apply to this show. Work previously exhibited in LibertyTown’s gallery is not eligible. Work must be original and not from kits.
Work accepted into the All That I Adore show must be for sale. Applications must be submitted electronically; no physical pieces will be accepted at the gallery for jurying. Work that will be displayed must be ready to show, with no unfired media, and no wet paint or other unfinished surfaces. LibertyTown will provide pedestals and shelving as needed. LibertyTown reserves the right to reject works accepted by the juror due to content, space constraints, or inability to properly install the work.

Artists applying to this show grant LibertyTown Arts Workshop unlimited non-exclusive right to use images of accepted work to promote the exhibit and the gallery.

LibertyTown Arts Workshop is a 13,000 square foot art facility located in downtown, Fredericksburg, Virginia, located halfway between DC and Richmond and a tourist destination rich in history.
They are home to over 80 artists and feature a main gallery, working artists’ studios, and full spectrum of art classes offered to the public. Main gallery shows rotate monthly. This ensures that they are always presenting new items for local patrons to enjoy and experience. It could be about how you feel when you celebrate or of places you like to be when you feel like celebrating or rejoicing. The work could be of traditional holidays and what celebrating those looks like for you. The art could convey the way one feels inside when celebrating or how love and those you love make you feel.

Arts Alive Public Art Program Theme for 2023: What is home?
This is an excellent opportunity for both mid-career and emerging artists to showcase their work. Artists are invited to reflect on and interpret the theme ‘What is Home?’.
A physical space or place? A nation or region? A connection to land or landscape? A sanctuary? A memory? Recollections of layers of history told through stories or legends? Cultural roots that extend for many generations? A safe space that satisfies the longing for connection? A palatial, modest, temporary or mobile residence? A place that is rented, borrowed or owned? A safe space that satisfies the longing for belonging? A place to thrive, forgive, love, celebrate, play, share, and dream of the future? A place that is no longer there, hidden, or make-shift?

Artist’s work will have exposure to thousands of residents and visitors in this high-profile program. The municipality, local media, and Oak Bay Tourism will promote this show throughout the year. Related arts events like art walks, paint-ins, concerts, and celebrations will be organized, generating excitement, and building community.
- Artists based in Western Canada are invited to apply for our 2023-2024 outdoor public art program

[Side Arts Certified Sponsored Listing] MiRNArte announces a call for artists for Viral Human – Public Art and Metaverse, the first virtual exhibition on the island of Venice, Italy. The project is sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Academy of Fine Arts of Venice, and Ugo and Olga Levi Foundation.
The exhibition relies on prestigious collaborations including the well-known theatre director Matteo Belli, Department of Ancient Music of the Benedetto Marcello Conservatory, Venice State Archives, Venice Civic Museums Foundation, Scuola Grande di San Rocco, and Pantakin Theatre Company – comedy circus theatre events.

Viral Human participants will virtually exhibit their work in a place in the city of Venice, Italy, of their choice, becoming part of an international collective exhibition, which will start on 17 July and end on 2 November 2023. The Viral Human project and the works of the artists will be available through the mobile application.
At the end of the art exhibition, a jury composed of members of the sector including artist Fabrizio Plessi; the Director of the Academy of Fine Arts of Venice, Riccardo Caldura; and the composer and conductor Carlo Boccadoro will award prizes to the first three artists of the Visual Arts and Contemporary Music sections.
