Annmarie Sculpture Garden and Arts Center aims to challenge traditional norms and push the boundaries of artistic expression by featuring a diverse array of artworks, installations, and designs that embody the extravagance, the lavishness, and the exuberance of maximalism. The exhibition will highlight bold colors, patterns, textures, intricate detail, and overwhelming visual richness. Graphic designers who produce fabric and wallpaper are also encouraged to apply.

Annmarie Sculpture Garden and Arts Center is located in scenic Solomons, Maryland, where the Patuxent River meets the Chesapeake Bay. The sculpture garden features a shady walking path that meanders through the woods past permanent and loaned sculpture, including over thirty works on loan from the Smithsonian Institution and the National Gallery of Art. Artists in the collection include: Antonio Tobias Mendez, Barbara Hepworth, Cesar, Robert Engman, Jean Arp, Kenneth Snelson and Fransisco Zuniga. Artists working in all media may apply for Forced Perspective, a juried multimedia presentation that contributes a fresh and unique perspective in conjunction with the Decatur Arts Festival. The exhibition will be installed in the newly renovated Fourth Floor Gallery of the Decatur Library, part of the DeKalb County Public Library. The show will run May 2 – June 14, 2024, in Decatur, Georgia.
Forced Perspective Awards
- Best of Show: $1,000
- Gold Award: $700
- Silver Award: $500
Purchase awards totaling $2,500 are selected by the City of Decatur for inclusion in its public art collection. Local institutions and universities frequently purchase exhibiting artwork. Purchase awards will be publicly announced on the exhibition website.
This is the 35th year of this exhibition. It reaches more the 60,000 in the month of May. There are dedicated institutional purchases from every exhibition.

This show seeks art that embraces bold colors, dynamic compositions, and a graphic style that defines the heart of pop art. Whether through traditional mediums or digital formats, Annmarie Sculpture Garden and Arts Center is looking for artwork that visually resonates with the energy, intensity, and even the absurdity of contemporary popular culture.
POP! Art with Mass Appeal is open to all media. 2-D, 3-D, indoor, and outdoor artwork will be considered. Digital artists must provide all display equipment, but please be aware the gallery is full of windows and natural light. Projections don’t work well in the space. All work must be created within the last four years. Artists must be 18 years or older. Artists must be living and working in the United States.
POP! Art With Mass Appeal Artist Benefits
This exhibition will be open to the public in the Kay Daugherty Gallery of Annmarie Sculpture Garden and Arts Center from May 3, 2024, to September 22, 2024.
Artists have the opportunity to exhibit and sell work in the beautiful Kay Daugherty gallery. Exhibitions are promoted through social media, the gallery’s website, MSAC, and targeted advertisements. Foot traffic for galleries during the months this show will be on display averages 7,500 people.
Funding for shipping is avaliable via a scholarship application.
Three Juror awards are chosen with each exhibition. The Juror is Teri Towler, Director of Collections at the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Gardens.

Selected artists will be paired with a local business sponsor that will provide a stipend to cover the cost of art materials.

Artists will be provided a winged foot cut-out of Veritek. The winged feet will be approximately 2 feet wide by 3-foot-high exterior art installations. They will be mounted to metal poles and rest at eye level. Designs should be appropriate for all ages. The artwork will be on display outdoors mid-March through the Boston Marathon on April 15, 2024.
The Boston Marathon is the oldest marathon in the world. Hopkinton serves as the start time for the event and sees over 200,000 visitors and runners in the days leading up to the event and the day of this famous marathon. The designs will be on display in the plaza where the start line of the race is held.
The Boston Marathon Winged Feet project is a fundraiser for two non-profit organizations: Hopkinton Center for the Arts and the 26.2 Foundation. The artwork will be auctioned off after the running of the Marathon to help raise funds for these two organizations.
About Hopkinton Center for the Arts
The Hopkinton Center for the Arts (HCA) is a visual and performing arts center located in Metrowest, Massachusetts.
The HCA offers classes for youth, teens, and adults in the visual and performing arts. Every year, over 2,000 students enjoy classes in fine art, dance, music, theater, filmmaking, photography, acting, and ceramics. In addition, students can take private music and art lessons with qualified instructors.
The Lotvin Family Gallery showcases a variety of exhibits, including juried exhibits, the HCA Members show, featured solo artist exhibits, and educational and community projects. Juried exhibits are curated by guest jurors who select pieces from submissions received during open calls for art. The Delbridge Family Performance Center is home to a variety of music, dance, and theatrical performances throughout the year. It is available for public rental.
The 26.2 Foundation’s signature project is the development of the International Marathon Center (IMC) in Hopkinton, Massachusetts, designed to honor, celebrate, and inspire the sport of marathoning. IMC plans call for a state-of-the-art education and conference facility, a marathon museum, and a hall of fame.
As a destination designed to engage multi-generational visitors intellectually, emotionally, and physically, the IMC will feature compelling programs on history, democracy, civics, fitness, nutrition, health, and human potential. Funded by individual and corporate philanthropy, the IMC will be located on the Boston Marathon race course, less than a mile from the starting line.
