The Town of Danville Village Theatre Art Gallery (VTAG) is accepting entries for its 9th annual juried exhibition, Into the Blue. Artists living in the United States over the age of 18 are encouraged to apply. Accepted media includes painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, sculpture, ceramics, mixed media, and video-media. All artwork must come to the gallery ready to hang. Artist will pay for transportation and/or shipping of artwork. The gallery will only accept digital images of your artwork for the juror. No jewelry.

The gallery serves as the lobby for an historical theatre that has shows nearly every day of the week. The theatre has plays, a monthly comedy series, a monthly jazz series, and a bi-monthly movie series. The gallery is located in lovely downtown Danville, California. It is within walking distance to restaurants and shops.
When selecting artwork for exhibitions, the juror only sees the artwork and is not privy to any private artist information. As a community gallery VTAG is consistently seeking ways to promote and feature all members of their community. They show works that represent under-represented communities in the Bay Area.

The Village Theatre Art Gallery is an historical landmark in the lovely and picturesque Town of Danville. It is in the sunny East Bay about 30 miles east of San Francisco. The gallery is owned by the Town of Danville. It hosts to 6-7 exhibitions per year. Each summer, the gallery hosts its annual juried exhibition with a new juror each year who is a working professional in the arts field. The Irving Arts Center announces a call for artists for the Texas and Neighbors Regional Art Exhibition 2019, open to artists 18 and older living in Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, and Oklahoma. Up to three works of two-dimensional art may be entered by an artist for an entry fee of $50 ($40 for IAA members). Exhibit dates: May 18 – June 15, 2019. The annual Texas & Neighbors exhibit is back for its 34th year! This five-state competition is highly respected and very competitive. Held in the spring at the prestigious Irving Arts Center. Cosponsored by the Irving Art Association and the Irving Arts Center. Texas And Neighbors Regional Art Exhibition 2019 supports: canvas, panel, paper, or yupo. Two-dimensional works must classify in one of the following five categories:
- Oil painting
- Water Media – Watercolor, casein, and gouache
- Mixed Media -The use of two or more mediums, collage, calligraphy, hand-pulled prints. Collage must incorporate two-dimensional, self-created elements. No relief or three-dimensional objects including found objects or magazine clippings.
- Drawing (Dry Media) – Pastel, colored pencil, graphite, ink, silver, gold, conte crayon, oil pastel, markers, and scratchboard
Submitted works of art must be two-dimensional originals completed within the last two years without instructor supervision. Work must not be a copy of other artist’s work (including reference photographs).

Ro2 Art, a contemporary fine art gallery located in The Cedars Neighborhood near Downtown Dallas, represents a diverse group of emerging, mid-career, and established contemporary artists – many with ties to the North Texas Region. The gallery, founded in 2010 by mother-and-son partners Susan Roth Romans and Jordan Roth, regularly collaborates with organizations such as The MAC and Cedars Union and maintains an exhibition program within the Magnolia Theatre at West Village and other satellite venues.

Bradley University Galleries announces a call for artist for the 37th Bradley International Print and Drawing Exhibition, the second-longest running juried print and drawing competition in the country. Every two years it features the best contemporary graphic artwork from around the globe. This year’s exhibition will be held at seven prominent Peoria, Illinois Galleries, The Contemporary Art Center of Peoria, Prairie Center of the Arts, Studios on Sheridan, Illinois Central College, Peoria Art Guild, and on campus at Bradley University at Heuser Art Gallery and Hartmann Center Gallery.

37th Bradley International Print And Drawing Exhibition Artist Benefits
The 37th Bradley International exhibition has three major cash awards that will be selected by the juror Janet Ballweg. Ballweg is currently a Professor of Creative Arts Excellence and the head of the Printmaking program at Bowling Green State University in northwest Ohio. 1st Place – $3,000, 2nd Place – $1,750, 3rd Place – $750. In addition, purchase awards will be made by the University.
This opportunity will showcase involved artists through their work’s display at seven Peoria partner gallery locations and through the PR efforts of each involved gallery. The public relation efforts include physical mailers, email blasts to members, and social media initiatives. All artists names will be posted and published online on the gallery website.

The Susquehanna Art Museum announces a call for artists for Inspired: Contemporary Responses to a Legacy of Courage, a juried exhibition in the Lobby Gallery and DeSoto Family Vault. June 28 – July 1, 2019 marks the 50th anniversary of the historic Stonewall uprising. The uprising, a series of violent demonstrations, was a spontaneous moment of courageous activism by members of the LGBTQ+ community against a police raid that took place at the Stonewall Inn in the Greenwich Village. The Stonewall Riots served as a catalyst for the LGBTQ+ rights movement in the United States and around the world. To recognize and commemorate this historic moment, Susquehanna Art Museum is partnering with the LGBT Center of Central PA and Dickinson College Archives and Special Collections to open the LGBTQ+ history project collection to artists and creators. The collection documents the stories and history of LGBTQ+ life and activism in Central PA.

Susquehanna Art Museum’s 2019 juried exhibition provides an opportunity for artists to visit the collection at the Dickinson College Archives and Special Collections. Artists are tasked with creating original works of art inspired by the items in the collection. Works selected for this exhibition should provide a contemporary reflection on a pivotal moment in American LGBTQ+ history. Submissions may consider the history of the LGBTQ+ community, the continued search for equity and inclusion both nationally and globally, social justice for marginalized groups, or other expressions of creativity inspired by the collection. These works may include, but are not limited to: ceramics, mixed media sculpture, painting, drawing, performance, video, the written word, and graphic design.

As one of the fundamental aspects of personal identity, gender has been examined by artists throughout history. Society is experiencing the increased politicization of identity expression while contemporary boundaries and norms are constantly shifting. Works selected for this exhibition will provide unique perspectives on individual expression and the definition of gender, both visually and conceptually. These works may include, but are not limited to, ceramics, mixed media sculpture, painting, drawing, performance, video, and graphic design.
Identity Spectrum Juror
Dr. Christine Fillipone, Associate Professor of Art History in the Department of Art and Design at Millersville University, specializes in contemporary and 20th century art. She is Coordinator of The Women’s and Gender Studies program at Millersville University. Recipient of the 2017 SECAC Award for Excellence in Scholarly Research and Publication, her book Science, Technology, and Utopias: Women Artists and Cold War America (Routledge Press, 2017) examines feminist aesthetic approaches to science and technology.
Her research has been supported by a Mellon postdoctoral fellowship, an American Fellowship from the American Association of University Women (AAUW), and a Guggenheim Fellowship from the National Air and Space Museum, Smithsonian Institution. Dr. Filippone has served as Executive Director of The Print Center in Philadelphia, an art gallery and store dedicated to contemporary printmaking and photography. She has worked in curatorial departments at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Brooklyn Museum of Art, International Center of Photography in New York, and the Nasher Museum of Art at Duke University.
There are two prizes available for Identity Spectrum: Juror’s Choice for Best in Show, a $400 prize and Viewer’s Choice, a $250 prize. Artists who are accepted in the juried exhibition are encourage to develop a long-term relationship with the Museum’s curator, submit their work for future opportunities, and/or create an exhibition proposal for a solo or group exhibition in the future.

With a large contemporary addition, it fuses early 20th century architecture with modern sleek galleries. LUX Center for the Arts is a non-profit which brings art to the community. Their mission is to enhance the lives of a diverse public through art education. LUX fills a gap in art education in schools, serves disadvantaged youth, and provides outreach to the community. Gladys M. Lux donated the building for the Lux Center. She left her unique collections of 1,700 dolls, 500 prints, and antique paper weights. LUX gives the public insight into these objects, the collector, and their historical significance.

The National Collage Society (NCS) is excited to announce the 20th Annual Postcard Show. All collages must be 4″ x 6″ in size. There is no jury for this exhibit.

The 20th Annual Postcard Show is an invitational exhibition only open to 2017 members of the National Collage Society, Inc. Become a member by paying the yearly $35 membership fee. All international collage artists are welcome to enter this exhibit. All entries must be original and have not been previously shown in any NCS exhibition. Entry must be a collage as defined by any artwork created with another layer glued onto the surface. The Chaffey Community Museum of Art has a 35% sales commission. All submissions of Collage Postcards are to be mounted, not matted, and centered on an 8” x 10” white mat board horizontal or vertical.
20th Annual Postcard Show artist benefits
Artists will benefit from being a participating member of the National Collage Society. This will give each artist the opportunity to enter the juried exhibit in the fall. The main annual national exhibit in the Fall has become so large in scope that many artists cannot be accepted. The jury selects an average of 20% from the total entries. For this NCS members postcard exhibit, 100% are accepted. This exhibition does not count toward Signature Member status. One awards judge will select several artists for a cash award. Merit certificates will be created for honorable mentions. The awards judge and amounts have not been determined as of yet. In previous years, awards have averaged $50 each.
The goal of the National Collage Society is to foster the appreciation and interest in the recognized medium of collage. Collage has been identified and defined during the twentieth century. The NCS advances the stature of collage as a major art medium and assists in the public education through exhibits and workshops, lectures, and publications. NCS is supported by its members who pay $35.00 per year (a tax deductible donation to the art foundation, exempt under 501(c)3 classification with the I.R.S.). Memberships imply a dedication to our purpose as stated in the Articles of Incorporation.
