[Sponsored Listing] LibertyTown Arts Workshop in Fredericksburg, VA, announces a call for artists for The Cube, a regional exhibition. LibertyTown wanted to try something a little bit different. They try to come up with concepts that can focus creative energy. This time they thought, what if they gave you all the same exact object and saw what you could do with it. Enter The Cube. The cube is a 4”x4” piece of wood, nothing more, nothing less.

Click here for the application / registration

Deadline: 30 Aug 2021

Fees: A non-refundable material fee must be paid for each cube. Payment may be submitted electronically via the LibertyTown website or by check delivered to LibertyTown.

How do you get your hand on a cube? Follow these simple steps:

  1. Register to get a cube. You will pay a $10 material fee for the cube at registration, and be asked for your email and telephone. This is so LibertyTown can remind you to come and pick up your cube.
  2. Come to LibertyTown starting May 15th and pick up a wooden cube. LibertyTown might have a few extras, so if you fail to register ahead of time, call and check with they and they might be able to get you one. But please register. Please.

Do not harm anyone with the cube or use it for nefarious means. LibertyTown has a particular set of skills. They will find out.
  4. Bring the art you made with the cube/cube made into art into the gallery starting August 27th (see below for a complete list of dates) along with a small explanation of your art. Something like “I burned the cube into charcoal and used it to draw a charcoal drawing.”

The ViBe Creative District promotes the gallery extending the reach. The exhibit is online. BOJUart donates a portion of every artist’s piece sold to a cause of their choice.

About BOJUart

BOJUart is an original contemporary art curation and gallery representing local, regional, statewide, and national artists. They connect new and established collectors, interior designers, architects, and businesses to a diverse portfolio of original contemporary artists. Ranging from large-scale environmental photography to mixed media, painting and glass, the work is on display in the studio gallery in Virginia Beach’s creative ViBe District. The gallery features a rotating visiting artist pop up exhibit in addition to the gallery’s collection of artists.
