[Side Arts Certified Sponsored Listing] Contemporary Art Gallery Online (CAGO) announces a call for artists to participate in the Black History Month, an international art competition and exhibition. Entries welcome from all 2D and 3D artists regardless of your experience or education in the art field.  Submit your best representational and non-representational art.

The Black History Month competition will be judged on three categories: painting / drawing, photography / digital art, and mixed media / 3D art. An online exhibition of all entrants will be held from March 1st, 2023, to March 28th, 2023.

Black History Month competition awards will be given for the top 5 to 8 works selected. Winners will be announced on March 15th, 2023. Prizes include memberships to Contemporary Art Gallery Online, extensive marketing, digital winner’s certificates, event collateral, and a Zoom interview for “In the Artist Studio Episodes.”

The artists’ work will be seen by approximately half a million people worldwide.  Contemporary Art Gallery Online actively promotes actively all their artists and has sold numerous works.

Photography, in its infancy, was entirely about black and white or monochrome images. Color was an after print add on. NYC4PA is focusing on one of their favorite themes, celebrating those images central to the field of photography despite the introduction of color film and the vast array of image capture and post process adjustment software.

Enter your monochrome images where all the emotion, texture, and beauty are expressed in shades from white to dark. No matter if your original image was shot with tri x, a digital SLR, or your phone, if the end product is a terrific monochrome image (black and white or sepia), then it fits the call.

As with all NYC4PA calls, all 2D photo mediums are welcome.

NYC4PA gives photographers worldwide an opportunity to participate in themed calls for photographers. Each call offered has a different theme and 50 images win. The prizes total $4000. The Primary Colors competition is about images in which one of these colors is a critical component. Submit each image into one of the categories: Red, Blue, or Yellow. Possibilities include black and white photographs with a single point of color; a red, yellow, or blue monochrome; or any image where red, yellow, or blue stands out as an important part of the composition. Is the blue sky a main element of your image, a red ball, or maybe a funky pair of yellow sunglasses? Have you modified a print to be all shades of red? Be creative and send your best!

Your Best Shot (Online Photography Exhibition) – Call For Artists

[Side Arts Certified Sponsored Listing] The New York Center for Photographic Art (NYC4PA) announces a call for artists for Your Best Shot, an online and gallery photography exhibition.

In August 2012, NYC4PA launched its first international call for entry. These past ten years have been quite an adventure. They have sponsored over 50 contests, awarded thousands of dollars in prizes, hosted a myriad of exhibitions, and led a wonderful photography trip to Iceland/Greenland.

To honor this milestone, NYC4PA are sponsoring a Tenth Anniversary, no theme, call for entry. It will include, in addition to regular prizes, a live exhibition of the cash prize winning and juror’s selection images. For this show the size of framed images will be limited to 11×14 (or 14×11). The exhibition will be held in a gallery in New York City Hell’s Kitchen in October 2022.

The O’Hanlon online gallery will see red this summer, from light pink to dark maroon or vibrant vermilion. All artists invited to submit their work that features the color red. This is not a monochromatic show. The Center is looking for work that features the color red. This is an online only show.

Art will be chosen by Jen Tough. Jen has worked as an Art Director for Urban Outfitters, Warners Bro Records, Hollywood Records, and numerous magazines. She created The Artist Alliance Community, an online membership site focusing on both professional and creative development for visual arts. She hosts a podcast, Tough on Arts, where artists can submit questions. Jen has juried and curated numerous national and regional exhibitions.

Red Artist Benefits

If accepted, the artist’s work will be:

  • Included in a curated exhibition on the center’s website
  • Promoted through media outlets such as Facebook and Instagram as well as promoted to a 4000-person email list
  • Part of a professionally-designed program that highlights each artist and available to be downloaded and printed from the exhibitions page
  • Archived on the center’s website in perpetuity

There will be an online roundtable art discussion to celebrate the show on Tuesday, July 12th at 4 PM Pacific Time. Open to all.

Buyers will pay the artist directly for any sales.
