Annual Exhibition (Belfast, UK) – Call For Artists

Founded in 1879, the Royal Ulster Academy of Arts is the largest and longest established body of practicing visual artists in Northern Ireland. One of its founding principles was to hold an annual exhibition of work by both members and non–members of merit. Now in its 138th year, this event remains one of the highlights of the Northern Irish arts calendar. The 138th Annual Exhibition will be on show at the Ulster Museum from 18th October 2019 to 5th January 2020.

Deadline: 5 Jul 2019

Artists selected for this prestigious exhibition can expect to have their work viewed by audiences in excess of 90,000. The Royal Ulster Academy is supported generously by a range of sponsors offering prizes from £500 to £1,000 to artists. The exhibition is a great way for emerging artists to sell their work and gain recognition. Last year, the Arts Council of Northern Ireland bought approximately 20 works from the exhibition. The exhibition is complemented by a range of artist talks, lectures, workshops and interactive activities. A proportion of these activities are available to artist who apply under the open submission.
