Ocean House Artisan In Residence (Watch Hill, RI) – Call For Artists
The Ocean House Artisan in Residence Program celebrates the arts, fosters creativity, and advances arts education. The 2020-21 program will feature notable and accomplished artisans, all of whom will be showcased at Ocean House and stay at the School House Cottage. The expectation is to select artisans who are creative and engaging. Guests and the community are enlightened with their art and information.
Deadline: 15 Dec 2019
The Artisan in Residence program is part of Ocean House Collection’s larger commitment to the community and the arts. Over the last several years, thousands of guests and community members have enjoyed art and programming at the Ocean House and Weekapaug Inn.
Many of the workshops and sessions are held in the historic School House Cottage, next to the Ocean House. Ocean House Artisan in Residence participants receive complimentary accommodations in the School House Cottage, meals during their extended weekend at Ocean House, and receive a $500 stipend. Legacy pieces from each artist are created and donated to be on display permanently at Ocean House.
About Ocean House
Since the redevelopment of the AAA Five Diamond and Forbes Five Star Ocean House in 2010, Ocean House Management (OHM) has grown from a single luxury hotel to a collection of some of the most prestigious hotel properties in New England. Each hotel is a member of Relais & Chateaux, a destination, with its own name and personality. They are managed by one of the best hoteliers in the business. The Ocean House Management Collection is comprised of properties in scenic South County, Rhode Island including Ocean House in Watch Hill, Weekapaug Inn, and the Watch Hill Inn. Inspired by the generosity of OHM Founders Charles and Deborah Royce and their passion for the arts, Ocean House programs include lectures including “In Conversation with Stephen Lash,” guest plein air artists and receptions, seasonal exhibits and galleries, art classes, and permanent collections.
