Community Arts Center announces a call for artists for Horizon: Contemporary Landscape 2016.

The juror will be asked to select work that reflects and expresses the theme of contemporary landscape while demonstrating creativity, strength of execution, and overall artistic excellence with the goal of selecting a well-rounded exhibit that showcases a broad range of artistic styles and interpretations.
All media will be considered with the exception of live or performance art. All work must have been completed since January of 2012 and not previously shown in any other Community Arts Center exhibitions. All works must be for sale.

- 2nd Place: $250
- 3rd Place: $100
Selected works will be on display at the Community Arts Center Thursday, September 1 through Friday, November 11, 2016. The Horizon: Contemporary Landscape has been an annual exhibit since 2010.
The Community Arts Center is a non-profit arts center with gallery spaces, classes, and arts-based programming in Danville, KY.

Call for artists for the 60th Anniversary, 2016 St. James Court Art Show.

This outdoor show is set in beautiful Historic Old Louisville, Kentucky. Five neighborhood associations and one church organize and run this show that covers four square blocks. Each group juries their own artists but operates simultaneously.
This three day event is a Louisville tradition bringing 150,000+ art patrons from all over the region. Artist amenities include award money, artist breakfast, artist lunches, acknowledgment of long time artists, and 60th Anniversary celebrations in 2016.
The St. James Court Art Show has been operating continuously for 60 years. Proceeds from the art show help preserve this historic Victorian neighborhood. $28,000 in college scholarship money was given out in 2015.

The tenth in a series of competitions, OH+5 ’16 is a regional, all media, juried exhibition of contemporary artwork.

This exhibition serves to promote artists residing in Ohio and the five states that border Ohio: Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. OH+5 ’16 will feature NEW work that provides the viewer with an appreciation of the variety of media, techniques and innovative trends in contemporary art.
- Susan Crehan-Hostetler is the Gallery Director for Hostetler Gallery in Nantucket, Massachusetts and Athens, Ohio.
- Bill Horrigan is the Curator-at-Large at the Wexner Center.
- Bartholomew Ryan, an independent curator, was The Warhol’s new Milton Fine Curator of Art.
The Exhibitions will be at the Dairy Barn Arts Center in Athens, Ohio. There will be cash awards for Best of Show; Innovative Use of Media, and 3 Jurors Awards. Artists will be able to sell their works as well as sell in our Gallery Shop and online.
The Dairy Barn Arts Center’s mission is to offer exhibitions, events, and educational programs that nurture and promote area artists and artisans; develop art appreciation among all ages; provide the community access to fine arts and crafts from outside the region; and draw attention and visitors to Southeast Ohio.
